Although it is one of the oldest sectors of electronics and now somewhat taken for granted, radio frequency transmission literally changed our world. Today, it is still the backbone of myriad applications, from broadcasting to electronic counter-measures. The wide variety of hardware in use means that those working in the field must be familiar with a multitude of principles and applications, but finding an up-to-date, comprehensive source for this background material has been difficult, if not impossible. The RF Transmission Systems Handbook addresses the underlying concepts, operation, and maintenance of high-power RF devices, transmission lines, and antennas for broadcast, scientific, and industrial use. Focusing on devices and systems that produce more than one kilowatt of output power, the handbook explores the following major topics: Applications: The common uses of radio frequency energy Fundamental principles: The basic technologies, concepts, and techniques used in RF transmission Power vacuum devices: The principles and applications of gridded vacuum tubes and microwave power devices Solid-state power devices: The operating parameters of semiconductor-based power devices RF components and transmission lines: The operation of hardware used to combine and conduct RF power Antenna systems: The different types of antennas and their basic operating parameters Troubleshooting: Basic troubleshooting techniques and the operation of important test instruments Contrary to the perceptions of many, RF technology remains a dynamic field that continues to advance to higher power levels and higher frequencies. Those who specify, install, and maintain RF equipment will welcome this reference that uniquely serves their needs.

Digital Display Of Characteristic Parameters Of Active Radio Frequency Transmission Systems written by Darl Paul Patrick and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1974 with categories.

A concept for the digital display of radio-frequency parameters present on a transmission line terminated at an antenna is developed. Design criteria for the realization of this concept are established and discussed. The complete electronic and mechanical design, as well as fabrication of a prototype system analyzer is described in detail. Schematic diagrams of all electronic circuitry employed and photographs of prototype equipment are included. Preliminary performance test results are presented and discussed. (Author).

Multipath Problems In Radio Frequency Transmission Systems written by W. D. Titus and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1967 with categories.

The phase characteristics of incoherent multipath reflection between airborne and ground-based terminals was examined. Measurements were made on calm overwater paths at frequencies of 2.735 and 8.205 GHz. No significant differences in the measured phase spectra are noted for the two frequencies of measurement or with propagation direction relative to sea surface wave structure. The measured phase spectra decreases at a rate of 3 to 5 db per octave in the 100- to 1,000-Hz band. Maximum phase modulation indexes observed are 10 degrees rms phase deviation within the 100- to 2,000-Hz band. This phenomenon probably does not present an important limitation to data-link reliability. (Author).

Radio Systems Engineering written by Héctor J. De Los Santos and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-08-19 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book is intended for readers who already have knowledge of devices and circuits for radio-frequency (RF) and microwave communication and are ready to study the systems engineering-level aspects of modern radio communications systems. The authors provide a general overview of radio systems with their components, focusing on the analog parts of the system and their non-idealities. Based on the physical functionality of the various building blocks of a modern radio system, block parameters are derived, which allows the examination of their influence on the overall system performance. The discussion is complemented by tutorial exercises based on the Agilent SystemVue electronic system-level (ESL) design software. With these tutorials, readers gain practical experience with realistic design examples of radio transmission systems for communications and radar sensing. The tutorials cover state-of-the-art system standards and applications and consider the characteristics of typical radio-frequency hardware components. For all tutorials, a comprehensive description of the tasks, including some hints to the solutions, is provided. The readers are then able to perform these tasks independently. A complete set of simulation models and solutions to the tutorial exercises is given.

A wireless communication system employs a radio frequency (RF) wave to transmit information bearing signals. In modern digital communication systems, sophisticated modulation techniques are developed to modulate information onto an RF carrier waveform, so as to transmit more information. This new book presents signal processing techniques for reducing impairments of analog and RF circuits in wireless communications systems. Engineers, researchers, and students will find full coverage of the topic, including vector modulators, power amplifiers, vector demodulators, group delay distortion in analog/RF filters, digital beamforming networks, and dual polarization systems. Several applications are discussed, including both single carrier and multi-carrier scenarios.
