Ogni anno Amnesty International documenta la situazione dei diritti umani nel mondo. La nostra ricerca rivela che nel 2023, in tutto il globo, le autorità hanno continuato ad attaccare le libertà universali. Gli stati e i gruppi armati hanno violato e aggirato le regole di guerra e il razzismo è stato alla base di alcuni conflitti armati e delle risposte che sono state date. Le crisi economiche, il cambiamento climatico e il degrado ambientale hanno colpito in modo sproporzionato le comunità marginalizzate. Le persone impegnate nella difesa dei diritti umani di queste comunità sono state prese di mira come parte di una più ampia repressione del dissenso. Si sono intensificate le ripercussioni sui diritti di donne e ragazze, oltre che delle persone Lgbti. Sono aumentati l’incitamento all’odio e altri contenuti dannosi pubblicati online contro alcuni gruppi razzializzati. Nel frattempo, i progressi nell’ambito dell’intelligenza artificiale sono stati usati per limitare le libertà e violare i diritti umani. Questo rapporto documenta le preoccupazioni sui diritti umani durante il 2023 in 155 paesi, mette in relazione le problematiche a livello globale e regionale e guarda alle implicazioni future; ci invita all’azione e ci mostra quali passi i governi e altri attori possono compiere per affrontare queste sfide e migliorare la vita delle persone in tutto il mondo. Il rapporto è una lettura essenziale per le persone che svolgono un ruolo di leadership di governo, che prendono decisioni politiche, che svolgono campagne, che si impegnano attivamente e che sono interessate ai diritti umani.

In the most recent years, Economic Statistics, like other applied and non-applied sciences, has been involved in the new intense data revolution, which regards all research fields, especially for data collection and data processing issues. The traditional statistical measures, used to monitor economic activities, are transformed from slow and periodic recordings into real-time information, with the need to integrate different sources of information. Complex data offer additional information to analyse economic phenomena, although main problems are still open questions regarding methodological issues, costs of collection, storing and analysis. In the light of this new scenario, the 2nd Conference on Economic Statistics “Statistical Analysis of Complex Economic Data: recent developments and applications”, which occurred in Florence on 7-8 February 2024, aimed to discuss the management and the usefulness of complex data in the analysis of economic phenomena, focusing on the recent developments and empirical applications. The transition to net-zero emissions by 2050 will have profound impacts on the labour market and the jobs of millions of workers. Aggregate effects on employment are estimated to be limited. But many jobs will be lost in the shrinking high-emission industries, while many others will be created in the expanding low-emission activities. This edition of the OECD Employment Outlook examines the characteristics of the jobs that are likely to thrive because of the transition (“green-driven jobs”), including their attractiveness in terms of job quality, and compares them to jobs in high-emission industries that tend to shrink. The cost of job displacement in these latter industries is assessed along with the trajectories of workers out of them towards new opportunities, and the labour market policies that can facilitate job reallocation. Particular attention is devoted to upskilling and reskilling strategies to facilitate workers’ transition into fast-growing, green-driven occupations. The distributive impacts of climate-change mitigation policies are also examined, with a focus on carbon pricing and options to redistribute its tax revenue to those most impacted. As usual, the first chapter of the Outlook assesses recent labour market developments (including wage trends), but also provides an update of the OECD Job Quality indicators.
