Im Hauptteil der Analyse wird die Situation von muslimischen Migranten auf dem österreichischen Arbeitsmarkt untersucht. In den frühen 1960er kamen viele Gastarbeiter aus den östlichen Staaten nach Europa. Die Einwanderungen waren auf eine unbefristete Zeit vorgesehen und stellten keine großen gesellschaftlichen Anregungen und Problematiken dar. Erst nachdem sich die „Gäste“ zu lange in der fremden Gesellschaft bewegten, begannen auch die rassistischen Konflikte. Zumal dann, wenn sie nicht ihrer Funktion als Arbeitskraft entsprachen. Wichtig war, dass sie arbeitsfähig waren. Die Frage bleibt, ob bei rassistischer Diskriminierung von Migranten, die Religionen eine wirklich große Rolle spielen. Ob Diskriminierung von Migranten aufgrund ethnischer Herkunft oder religiöser Herkunft entstehen, sind die Fragen, die in dieser Arbeit aufgeklärt werden. Es werden wichtige Begriffe wie „Migration“ und „Rassismus“ erklärt, damit wir uns genauer vorstellen können, womit wir es hier zu tun haben. Die darauffolgenden Abschnitte zeigen uns einen kurzen Einblick in den Arbeitsmarkt in Österreich, wie hier die Bewerber mit Migrationshintergrund und ohne Migrationshintergrund abschneiden. Die Auswirkungen ethnischer Herkünfte am Arbeitsmarkt sind sehr beachtlich. Jedoch grenzen sich Vorurteile leider nicht nur in diesem Aspekt ein, sondern auch auf religiöser Hinsicht. Die Abschnitte danach postulieren uns die Lage der Muslime. Wieso sie diskriminiert werden, gefolgt durch Beispiele und statistische Auswertungen von verschiedenen Studien.
