Bol?var y la emancipaci?n de las colonias espa?olas desde los or?genes hasta 1815, es uno de los mejor documentados libros de historia de las primeras etapas de la vida de Colombia. Ese libro fue escrito por el diplom?tico e historiador colombiano Jules Mancini, quien con un lenguaje elegante, y estricta metodolog?a investigativa de la historia y la historiograf?a, recopil? miles de datos concretos acerca de los antecedentes de la guerra de independencia de Colombia y otras naciones latinoamericanas asi como las campa?as militares y las tormentas pol?ticas que soport? Sim?n Bolivar hasta 1815. Desafortunadamente, el libro no alcanz? a cubrir la vida entera del Libertador, debido que el autor de la obra, falleci? en 1912, a la prematura edad de 37 a?os. Los historiadores de la ?poca trataron de recopilar el trabajo que llevaba adelnatado Mancini al respecto, pero fue imposible completar la obra, raz?n por la cual se public? esta parte, que desde su inicio fue traducida y publicada de manera simult?nea en ingl?s y franc?s. El Bol?var de Mancini, como se le conoce a este libro en los c?rculos acad?micos de la historia patria, es un texto vibrante, enriquecedor en t?rminos de cultura general, de ciencias pol?ticas, de ciencias sociales y de conocimiento de la identidad del ser latinomericano. Esta es una raz?n mas que suficiente para invitar a lso amantes de esta tem?tica para que lo lean y lo conserven en su biblioteca, pues la proyecci?n de los pueblos simpre estar? ligada con su pasado y con las gestas de los grandes l?deres de esas sociedades. Para fortuna de Latinoamerica, la gloria del Libertador Sim?n Bol?var ser? mas grande para las generaciones venideras, y trabajos investigativos tan minuciosos como el de Mancini, siempre ser?n guias y referentes bibliogr?ficos para comprender las viscisitudes y ?xitos del hombre m?s grande que haya nacido en el hemisferio americano.
