Untuk memperoleh data ilmiah yang kemudian diangkat dalam buku ini, dalam penelitiannya selain melibatkan siswa dan sekolah, sangat jelas bahwa penulis juga mengamati peran serta orang tua sebagai salah satu faktor eksternal yang penting dalam menumbuhkan tradisi membaca anak. Metode PTC (Parent-Teacher-Collaboration) atau kolaborasi antara orang tua dan sekolah diterapkan sebagai upaya pengembangan kemampuan literasi anak, terutama budaya baca, yang sejatinya bisa dimulai dari rumah dengan menciptakan lingkungan yang kondusif. Oleh karena itu, hasil penelitian yang dipaparkan dengan komprehensif dalam buku ini bisa digunakan untuk membuka wawasan pembaca, terutama orang tua, guru, dan masyarakat, tentang pentingnya penanaman budaya baca pada anak-anak sejak usia dini. Penekanan bahwa proses pembudayaan literasi baca anak akan berdampak tidak hanya pada perkembangan komponen-komponen literasi lain pada saat mereka beranjak dewasa tetapi juga prestasi akademik yang baik, perlu dipahami bersama
