Seminar paper del año 2006 en eltema Romanística - Estudios españoles, Nota: 1,3, Universität Osnabrück, Idioma: Español, Resumen: El siguiente trabajo tiene como objetivo presentar el estilo literario de lo “Real Maravilloso” según el cubano Carpentier, quien introdujo esta expresión en el prólogo de su novela “El reino de este mundo”. Me voy a referir a su obra “El siglo de las luces” e intentaré aplicar las tesis de Carpentier a esta novela. Pienso que es necesario conocer la vida del autor porque los rasgos de la personalidad de Carpentier y su gran erudición se reflejan en su obra. Sus cuantiosos viajes y su educación cosmopolita son, entre otras cosas, las razones que explican los temas evocados en las obras suyas: el contacto y la fusión de las culturas diferentes. Aunque también estuvo en otros lugares, su vida y su obra están estrechamente vinculadas a tres sitios: La Habana, París y Caracas. No estructuraré el capítulo sobre su vida cronológicamente sino que lo estructuraré según estas estaciones. El tiempo que Carpentier pasó en estos mundos diferentes le influyó en aspectos distintos y por eso dividiré su vida en estas tres partes. La historia de la noción “Realismo Mágico” es larga y compleja, pero lo interesante es ver cómo evoluciona y pasa del campo del arte al ámbito literario. Se dice que es el rasgo más conocido de la literatura latinoamericana. El “Realismo Mágico” parece contener una contradicción respecto a las expresiones “mágico” y “realismo” pero intentaré analizar este estilo literario y la relación entre esas palabras. El “Realismo Mágico” está muy vinculado con lo “Real Maravilloso” y el trabajo siguiente va a mostrar que es muy difícil hacer una delimitación entre los términos. Por eso pienso que es necesario dar una definición de ambos. Después voy a presentar la novela “El siglo de las luces” – en el nivel textual y también estilístico. Es una narración sobre los logros de la Revolucíon Francesa en Latinoamerica que se destaca entre otras cosas por su lengua compleja y por el tema de la Revolución. Con otras dos obras – “El reino de este mundo” y “Los pasos perdidos” – la novela pertenece a la trilogía de lo “Real Maravilloso” de Carpentier.Finalmente intentaré mostrar las características de lo “Real Maravilloso” por medio de la novela para ver si “El siglo de las luces” es una obra de lo “Real Maravilloso”. Referente a eso un aspecto muy importante es el de “la Revolución”: en este caso la Revolución Francesa y sus consecuencias para la gente en Latinoamérica y también la relación entre los acontecimientos de 1789 en Francia y los de 1959 en Cuba.
