Nicky Almasy's memoir Recycling Reality told the story of this Hungarian photographer's adventures across Asia and elsewhere through words, and Reality Recycled adds color to that story by chronicling Nicky's travels and most important projects via a collection of photographs accumulated over two decades. The images here take us from youth in London and tragedy in Mexico to many adventures in Asia, including several years documenting the Shanghai Tower with architect Marshall Strabala, malaria in Cambodia, and a cornucopia of images captured through Nicky's discerning lens.

Recycled Reality is a collection of rhyming poems that I have written over the years, as I pondered why things are. Many of them offer deep insight into the soul and a chance to ask oneself deep questions. I do not try to impose my own answers to life onto any of my readers, as I believe we hold the answers to everything already and we just don't know it, so we try to figure them out. Some others are writings about life and situations, in general, and still others deal with the deep workings of the mind and energies that create our perceivable reality, which shapes us into who we are, as we continue to make our own world and it makes us... recycling reality.

"Recycled Human" is a continuation of my first book, Damaged Goods but Recycled Human is aimed more at the re-entry into the general public. A big part of that shift involves various 'transitional services' which are in fact not helping people. In fact, the services meant to help a person like me develop can be yet another oppressive system. When a person wants to change and truly is ready to face change, it can be challenging to find genuine resources. So here it is.....this is my testimony of what I saw in myself and the system that needed changing. I hope "Recycled Human" is useful in your own personal journey or the journey of your loved one.

Folklore Recycled written by Frank de Caro and has been published by Univ. Press of Mississippi this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-05-30 with Social Science categories.

Folklore Recycled starts from the proposition that folklore—usually thought of in its historical social context as “oral tradition”—is easily appropriated and recycled into other contexts. That is, writers may use folklore in their fiction or poetry, taking plots, as an example, from a folktale. Visual artists may concentrate on depicting folk figures or events, like a ritual or a ceremony. Tourism officials may promote a place through advertising its traditional ways. Folklore may play a role in intellectual conceptualizations, as when nationalists use folklore to promote symbolic unity. Folklore Recycled discusses the larger issue of folklore being recycled into non-folk contexts, and proceeds to look at a number of instances of repurposing. Colson Whitehead's novel John Henry Days is a literary text that recycles folklore but does so in a manner which examines a number of other uses of the American folk figure John Henry. The nineteenth-century members of the Louisiana branch of the American Folklore Society and the author Lyle Saxon in the twentieth century used African American folklore to establish personal connections to the world of the southern plantation and buttress their own social status. The writer Lafcadio Hearn wrote about folklore to strengthen his insider credentials wherever he lived. Photographers in Louisiana leaned on folklife to solidify local identity and to promote government programs and industry. Promoters of “unorthodox” theories about history have used folklore as historical document. Americans in Mexico took an interest in folklore for acculturation, for tourism promotion, for interior decoration, and for political ends. All of the examples throughout the book demonstrate the durability and continued relevance of folklore in every context it appears.

An increasing amount of waste is generated each year from textiles and their production. For economic and environmental reasons it is necessary that as much of this waste as possible is recycled instead of being disposed of in landfill sites. In reality the rate of textile recycling is still relatively low. On average, approximately ten million tonnes of textile waste is currently dumped in Europe and America each year. Considering the diversity of fibrous waste and structures, many technologies must work in concert in an integrated industry in order to increase the rate of recycling. Recycling in textiles shows how this can be achieved. The first part of the book introduces the subject by looking at the general issues involved and the technologies concerned. Part Two explores the chemical aspects of textile recycling. Part Three focuses on recycled textile products, including nonwovens and alternative fibres. Finally, the last part of the book discusses possible applications of recycled textiles, including using recycled products in the operating theatre, for soil stabilisation and in concrete reinforcement.Recycling in textiles presents several promising technologies and ideas for recycling systems. This is the first book of its kind to bring together textile recycling issues, technology, products, processes and applications. It will prove an invaluable guide to all those in the industry who are now looking for ways to recycle their textile waste. Provides extensive coverage of this hot topic An invaluable guide for all in the textile industry Learn how to increase the rate of recycling

Recycling the Remnants of the Literary Text: Verandas for the Residual and the Emergent addresses literary recycling as a creative endeavour that supplements meaning through appropriating remnants of texts and transforming them into traces or echoes of their former selves within a new narrative design. It approaches recycling as a process that extends verandas of meanings and creates sites for ongoing discursive accretion of signification through the dialogic encounter between the old and the new, “the residual” and “the emergent.” Whether seen as markers of the capacity of the literary text to surprise and haunt it readers, or residues of systems of representations predicated on selective inclusion and strategies of exclusion, remnants can offer rich material for setting in motion new cycles of renewal. The contributors of this volume propose recycling as writing and reading strategies. The first grants the remnants an afterlife and allow for an opening up of new narrative possibilities; while the second constructs alternative readings by allowing unwanted remnants to return and fill in gaps and silences. These oddments of the literary text are essential to question the iniquities of cultural, racial, and class prejudices. They are unavoidable in the construction of an emergent literary and cultural matrix for disruption and change.
