O livro Recortes da produção de conhecimento na área de Educação Física – uma abordagem revisionista lança um olhar sobre a produção do conhecimento em Educação Física. O conhecimento científico disponibilizado no campo acadêmico não é simplesmente socializado sem nenhum um tipo de filtro, há contestações e esforços revisionistas que procuram não só refutar a produção, como também inventariar, mapear, organizar, descrever esse conhecimento disponibilizado na literatura. Por sinal, foi por via dessa capacidade revisionista aliada a um sentimento de ceticismo e criatividade, que o campo acadêmico-científico pôde chegar a importantes descobertas e a grandes revoluções científicas. Portanto, o hábito de revisar o conhecimento é sem dúvida uma das principais ferramentas da ciência. Pois, como se sabe, ninguém produz conhecimento sem antes ter se deparado com saberes anteriores. Com o crescimento da Educação Física tanto na esfera interventiva como acadêmica, o campo científico foi abastecido com uma larga produção socializada nos mais diferentes sítios de divulgação científica. Essa produção materializada em livros, artigos, monografias, dissertações, teses, dentre outros, não apenas foi alvo de leitura dos pares, como também de investimento descritivo e analítico por uma ampla comunidade acadêmica. Dessa forma, é por conta dessa aproximação com o campo da Epistemologia da Educação Física que esperamos auxiliar, não exclusivamente, mas principalmente, alunos em processo de formação na área da Educação Física, não só no que se refere às temáticas abordadas, mas também no processo metodológico que está por de trás dos estudos de revisão. Assim sendo, almeja-se que esta coletânea com artigos de revisão, de alguma forma, possa assinalar o significado de estudos de revisão de literatura, bem como aspirar jovens pesquisadores a se aventurar no mundo da pesquisa científica, que muitas das vezes ingressam no universo da ciência a partir da leitura e análise de estudos já socializados no campo acadêmico.

Since the 1960s, the Catholic Church has acted as a mediator during social and political change in many Latin American countries, especially the Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and El Salvador. Although the Catholic clergy was called in during political crises in all five countries, the situation in the Dominican Republic was especially notable because the Church's role as mediator was eventually institutionalized. Because the Dominican state was persistently weak, the Church was able to secure the support of the Balaguer regime (1966–1978) and ensure social and political cohesion and stability. Emelio Betances analyzes the particular circumstances that allowed the Church in the Dominican Republic to accommodate the political and social establishment; the Church offered non-partisan political mediation, rebuilt its ties with the lower echelons of society, and responded to the challenges of the evangelical movement. The author's historical examination of church-state relations in the Dominican Republic leads to important regional comparisons that broaden our understanding of the Catholic Church in the whole of Latin America.
