Recuerdos de Hemingway II: "Leopoldina" y otros textos editado por Ediciones Lilium de Buenos Aires, Argentina en versión epub se halla en el contexto de la tetralogía dedicada por el autor al escritor Ernest Hemingway. En este volumen se han incluido diferentes textos algunos de los cuales tienen su origen en "Recuerdos de Ernest Hemingway I: Apuntes autobiográficos" publicado en el blog: www.hemingwayoskar.com.ar en el año 2011. También se hallan textos inéditos como es el caso de "Leopoldina" una oda a aquella gran amiga de Hemingway en La Habana, llamada Leopoldina Rodríguez. Le siguen escritos con diversos temas de enfoque como por ejemplo "A través de la bruma y entre los recuerdos", la cuestión de la presencia y la ausencia del mar con análisis referidos a un fenómeno que aparece en diversas ocasiones de una u otra manera. En todo este contexto Hemingway siempre está presente e interviene como una "leyenda" que remite al pasado del autor y del escritor. Es un pasado revisitado que tiene más de medio siglo y que en alguna manera responde a una pregunta reiterada: ¿Por qué Hemingway? Los viejos textos que hoy ven la luz editorial y los objetos símbolos de aquel gran escritor y periodista aparecen en escena a través de un "rincón Hemingway" y concluyen en un blog dedicado al mismo escritor. Por último, se cierra el volumen empleando la expresión de un cubano desconocido "Crónica de una entrevista frustrada" un texto sobre el proyecto del autor de entrevistar a Hemingway en 1961. Hay que destacar que hay abundante documentación fotográfica y en gran parte de los casos inédita y original que se halló muy a posteriori de la ya mencionada edición de 2011. Todos los textos aportan una mirada fresca, expresada en forma sencilla, acerca de cuestiones que relacionan este gran escritor Premio Nobel 1954 con su tiempo, con sus temas y con quienes lo siguieron y lo siguen hasta el día de hoy.

Además, estimado leyente, si llegaste al final de la historia, te invito a que la leas varias veces y haz el ejercicio de colocar un espejo a tu alma, si esta te lo permite, para mirar tu interior, ver dónde te encuentras parado y si has hecho y haces lo correcto en esta vida para no sufrir o que sufran otros.

Tres historias que se desarrollan en un pueblo de pescadores llamado Itacuruꞔa distante 80 kilómetros de Río de Janeiro, capital de la República de Brasil. El protagonista es un periodista extranjero a quien invitan a este lugar para que, dada la paz existente en él, realice un trabajo académico. El invitado ignora que el lugar es paradisiaco y solo especula en quedarse por cortesía un día o dos a lo sumo. Pero los hechos lo llevarán a pensar y actuar de forma muy diferente. El mar, las playas y los habitantes darán lugar a sucesos inesperados de vivencias y reencuentros. Aunque diferentes, las tres historias se entrelazan a través de sus protagonistas. En ellas aparece el amor, el misterio y la muerte. Curiosamente estos tres relatos comienzan en forma similar y poseen hilos conductores que los interrelacionan. Aunque se pueden leer por separado queda una cuota de curiosidad si se deja de leer alguno de ellos. Cada uno contiene al otro y entre los tres conforman la denominada Trilogía de Itacuruꞔa que va como subtítulo. En su despedida, el extranjero lo hará con un bagaje de sentimientos encontrados y tres historias que alguna vez serán relatadas, que alguna vez serán escritas y en lo más recóndito de su espíritu siente que lo hará.

La historia de este español termina en Argentina, pero la máquina es un testigo de su paso por esas tierras y así lo aguarda. El penúltimo texto es un perfil biográfico de Ernest Hemingway , en el que se combina la historia de "El Viejo y la máquina de escribir" y el pensamiento del escritor sobre la lucha del hombre y la inexistencia de la derrota. Fue escrito dos años después de la muerte del escritor. On May 13, 1950, Lillian Ross's first portrait of Ernest Hemingway was published in The New Yorker. It was an account of two days Hemingway spent in New York in 1949 on his way from Havana to Europe.
