Based on a study of 12,000 elementary school children in eight large and medium-sized American cities, this book presents the first large-scale study of political attitude formation in children. The authors view political development from the perspective of a general theory of socialization, and compare the influences of social class, intelligence, teacher attitude, and religious membership on the growth of political attitudes. "La psicología como profesión y como disciplina en Colombia se ha desarrollado de una manera descontextualizada, ignorando los grandes y graves problemas sociales que influyen en nuestra cultura y subjetividad. Frente a esta situación ha emergido un movimiento profesional de psicólogos comunitarios que han unido sus esfuerzos para desarrollar una estrategia de acción en red denominada la Expedición Psicosocial Colombiana, orientada en primer término a romper el individualismo y aislamiento propio del ejercicio profesional y dar los primeros pasos para actuar colectivamente, construir comunidad entre psicólogos(as) e iniciar una conversación sobre la comprensión psicosocial de la realidad colombiana. En este contexto se realiza esta investigación, cuyo objetivo principal consiste en desarrollar participativamente una caracterización de la problemática psicosocial colombiana desde el conocimiento de la psicología comunitaria en los últimos 20 años. Para ello, se analizaron 341 publicaciones desde sus lineamientos teóricos y apuestas metodológicas, buscando identificar los aportes al campo de la psicología comunitaria. Este documento pretende convertirse en un referente bibliográfico en los procesos de formación académica de las y los psicólogos comunitarios en Colombia. Intenta reconocer los principales aportes al desarrollo de este campo de conocimiento y establecer los avances obtenidos en los proyectos de investigación e intervención realizados en los últimos años. Igualmente, busca ser un texto guía para profesores y estudiantes, investigadores y profesionales, interesados en estudiar, diagnosticar y transformar las realidades psicosociales de los territorios colombianos desde la perspectiva de la psicología comunitaria. Igualmente se constituye en el primer paso dado colectivamente por la Red Colombiana de Psicología Comunitaria para consolidar una disciplina que oriente el ejercicio profesional como un proceso solidario donde construyamos participativamente y de una manera crítica la nueva realidad que este país necesita. "
