Les externalités sociales et environnementales positives ou négatives des entreprises, universités, institutions et bien d’autres organisations sont désormais sous la loupe de plusieurs acteurs : regroupements de citoyens, de consommateurs, de bailleurs de fonds, mais aussi d’ONG, de syndicats, et de bien d’autres parties prenantes. L’intégration de ces externalités dans les modèles d’affaires, dans les processus décisionnels d’investissements, dans les études de lancements de nouveaux produits ou dans diverses stratégies est, aujourd’hui, devenue incontournable. Connu sous la dénomination « responsabilité sociale des entreprises », puis intégré comme « risque extra-financier », ce concept a fait l’objet de très nombreuses recherches dans divers champs de la gestion : ressources humaines, comptabilité, finance, gouvernance, etc. Ces études ont, pour la très grande majorité, été menées dans des pays développés. Cet ouvrage est un recueil de recherches réalisées dans les pays émergents francophones. Débutant par une mise en contexte théorique rédigée par des praticiens reconnus pour leur contribution dans l’avancement et l’acceptation de la RSE au niveau mondial et par des praticiens pionniers du domaine, ce collectif présente des études et des réflexions portant sur les marchés marocain, tunisien, algérien ou nigérien. La « responsabilité sociale, sociétale et environnementale des entreprisesnbsp;» (RSE) est encore très souvent analysée au seul niveau microéconomique et contractuel. Cette approche est aujourd'hui dominante dans les travaux sur la RSE et se traduit par la prépondérance des analyses portant sur les liens entre l'entreprise et ses «nbsp;parties prenantesnbsp;». L'ancrage institutionnel et les rapports de force qui déterminent ces relations sont en général absents de telles analyses. Cet ouvrage adopte une position différente selon laquelle la question de la RSE doit également être analysée en dehors de l'entreprise, de la relation interindividuelle, pour être portée au niveau collectif. Cette posture est en opposition avec une vision exclusivement interindividuelle de la sphère économique et sociale, que porte quelquefois le mouvement de la RSE. Contrairement à ce que l'on pourrait croire, ce phénomène ne cache pas un retour à une illusoire régulation uniquement fondée sur le contrat et la volonté individuelle, il porte l’espoir d’une forme de régulation collective, et donc individuellement contraignante, du mode de production capitaliste.

Après les événements du début de l'année 2009, que reste-t-il du mouvement initié par le LKP en Guadeloupe et le K5F en Martinique ? Nombreux sont ceux qui ont prophétisé que "rien ne sera plus jamais comme avant". Mais, au-delà des discours militants, parfois peu réalistes, les sentiments qui prévalent oscillent entre désillusion, colère, cynisme et déception. Pourtant, la mobilisation aura été un moment intense d'échanges d'idées et de confrontation des approches du réel, d'exaltation des identités guadeloupéenne et martiniquaise, et, dans une certaine mesure, de l'identification française. Les réserves et critiques occultent souvent les gains matériels et symboliques de la mobilisation, et surtout le sens profond du soulèvement. Au-delà du sens partagé, la mobilisation a mis au jour des sens différents, voire opposés, qui requièrent une analyse contextualisée. Cet ouvrage collectif, qui rassemble 14 spécialistes de disciplines différentes des sciences sociales, originaires de Guadeloupe, de Martinique, des Etats-Unis, de Porto-Rico, de Grande Bretagne, du Canada et de France, s'interroge sur le "système de significations" à l'oeuvre dans l'action collective, et singulièrement dans celle qui se déroule en 2009 aux Antilles. Les contributions présentées s'appuient sur une analyse documentée des stratégies qui permettent de comprendre le sens attaché à l'action des différents protagonistes du mouvement social, et les interprétations variées qui peuvent en découler. Avant la revendication des 200 euros, dont l'évocation exclusive appauvrit le mouvement social, c'est la résistance contre toutes les formes de pwofitasyon qui justifie la mobilisation du LKP guadeloupéen et du K5F martiniquais en 2009. Découlant de la nécessité de résister à l'injustice faite aux plus démunis, cette mobilisation sociale s'apparente, avant l'heure, à l'indignation clamée par Stéphane Hessel, qui se répand depuis quelques mois aux Etats-Unis et dans plusieurs capitales européennes.
