Tommy Ley is writing about America's final chapter, just before a new beginning, as stage one history is finally ending. "Revelations of Tommy Freedom Fighter" explores humility. Whenever one feels small, for whatever reason, be grateful for an honest attitude, looking at what is great. This is important, considering those mindful few humble servants, who serve the bigger picture. "Freedom's Threshold" shows one small step into the blue. Authentic Freedom depends upon what? Being True! About the Author Author Tommy Ley was born in Yakima, Washington. He was educated throughout the United States: Michigan, Florida, New Mexico, Colorado, and Idaho. He returned to Washington state and attended the University of Washington, Seattle, graduating in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts in Native Communications, General Studies, Arts and Sciences. His father is of German, English, Irish, Scots ancestry. His mother was from the Colville tribe with Canadian Shuswap bloodlines. Meet Tommy Martini, the monk with an anger management problem. Since killing somebody with a single punch is not a needed talent in a monastery, he spends his time praying, meditating, and taking his anger management medicine. But his meditations are interrupted by a legacy from his uncle, a crooked priest. Arriving in a New Age Arizona town to claim his inheritance, Brother Tommy meets a charismatic, smoking-hot cult leader who claims that women are being impregnated by alien beings while they sleep. Tommy’s own sleep is disturbed—by cartel hitmen, Mafia bill collectors, and women intrigued by his vow of chastity. He loses his anger management medicine in time to deal with the hitmen, but the women present an uphill battle. William Kotzwinkle’s quicksilver touch has produced an effervescent piece of entertainment filled with suspense, turns you won’t see coming, and the humor for which he is famous.

A guide to invocations, rituals, and histories at the intersection of magic and feminism, as informed by history's witches--and the sociopolitical culture that gave rise to them. When you start looking for witches, you find them everywhere. As seekers and practitioners reclaim and restore magic to its rightful place among powerful forces for social, personal, and political transformation, more people than ever are claiming the identity of "Witch." But our knowledge of witchcraft and magic has been marred by erasure, sensationalism, and sterilization, the true stories of history's witches left untold. Through meditations, stories, and practices, authors Risa Dickens and Amy Torok offer an intersectional, contemporary lens for uncovering and reconnecting with feminist witch history. Sharing traditions from all over the world--from Harlem to Haiti, Oaxaca to Mesopotamia--Missing Witches introduces readers to figures like Monica Sjoo, HP Blavatsky, Maria Sabina, and Enheduanna, shedding light on their work and the cultural and sociopolitical contexts that shaped it. Structured around the 8 sabbats of the Wheel of the Year, each chapter includes illustrations by Amy Torok, as well as invocations, rituals, and offerings that incorporate the authors' own wisdom, histories, and journeys of trauma, loss, and empowerment. Missing Witches offers an inside look at the vital stories of women who have practiced--and lived--magic.

Explores the life of Shields Green, one of the Black men who followed John Brown to Harper’s Ferry in 1859 When John Brown decided to raid the federal armory in Harper’s Ferry as the starting point of his intended liberation effort in the South, some closest to him thought it was unnecessary and dangerous. Frederick Douglass, a pioneering abolitionist, refused Brown’s invitation to join him in Virginia, believing that the raid on the armory was a suicide mission. Yet in front of Douglass, “Emperor” Shields Green, a fugitive from South Carolina, accepted John Brown’s invitation. When the raid failed, Emperor was captured with the rest of Brown’s surviving men and hanged on December 16, 1859. “Emperor” Shields Green was a critical member of John Brown’s Harper’s Ferry raiders but has long been overlooked. Louis DeCaro, Jr., a veteran scholar of John Brown, presents the first effort to tell Emperor’s story based upon extensive research, restoring him to his rightful place in this fateful raid at the origin of the American Civil War. Starting from his birth in Charleston, South Carolina, Green’s life as an abolitionist freedom-fighter, whose passion for the liberation of his people outweighed self-preservation, is extensively detailed in this compact history. In The Untold Story of Shields Green, Emperor pushes back against racism and injustice and stands in his rightful place as an antislavery figure alongside Frederick Douglass and John Brown.

In February 1999, only a few weeks before the U.S. Air Force spearheaded NATO's Allied Force air campaign against Serbia, Col. C.R. Anderegg, USAF (Ret.), visited the commander of the U.S. Air Forces in Europe. Colonel Anderegg had known Gen. John Jumper since they had served together as jet forward air controllers in Southeast Asia nearly thirty years earlier. From the vantage point of 1999, they looked back to the day in February 1970, when they first controlled a laser-guided bomb strike. In this book Anderegg takes us from "glimmers of hope" like that one through other major improvements in the Air Force that came between the Vietnam War and the Gulf War. Always central in Anderegg's account of those changes are the people who made them. This is a very personal book by an officer who participated in the transformation he describes so vividly. Much of his story revolves around the Fighter Weapons School at Nellis Air Force Base (AFB), Nevada, where he served two tours as an instructor pilot specializing in guided munitions.

Call The Briefing written by Marlin Fitzwater and has been published by Xlibris Corporation this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2000-11-13 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

For a decade, Marlin Fitzwater was White House spokesman for Presidents Reagan and Bush, a remarkably long sojourn in that high pressure post. His longevity was a testament to the unique combination of talents he brought to the job. And his long tenure gave him unparalleled insight into the way the press and the presidency collide in today's Washington. CALL THE BRIEFING, Fitzwater's memoir of the Reagan/Bush years, is an insightful, richly detailed account of the world where that struggle takes place. Fitzwater is not merely the public face of the presidency. He was a major presence at meetings in the Cabinet Room, on Air Force One, at Santa Barbara and Kennebunkport, witnessing, participating in, and sometimes shaping the events of those years. From Iran/Contra through the U.S./Soviet Summits to Bush's difficult 1992 election campaign, Fitzwater shows us the pressures of political life at their most intense. In one chilling chapter he describes the potent political and personal forces that broke three White House chiefs of staff and resulted in their resignation. And he explores the sometimes macabre nature of the press's coverage of the president in the "Death Watch," which recounts how a president's smallest ailment has political implications that may be laughable, but are also grimly serious. It is amazing to discover just how complex is every event in the life of a president. Fitzwater is a very funny Kansan. CALL THE BRIEFING is filled with his candid observations on the personalities and events of the Reagan/Bush years. He also gives an unusually incisive, fair account of how the reporters who cover the president find, investigate, and break their stories. Although he has no illusions about the unsightly and occasionally unsavory business of journalism, his respect and affection for reporters and their craft is boundless. His account of the power of the press and its influence on the presidency in setting the national agenda should not be missed by anyone who wishes to understand the complexities of presidential politics.

In the spring of 1970, seventeen women set out from Vancouver in a big yellow convertible, a Volkswagen bus, and a pickup truck. They called it the Abortion Caravan. Three thousand miles later, they “occupied” the prime minister’s front lawn in Ottawa, led a rally of 500 women on Parliament Hill, chained themselves to their chairs in the visitors’ galleries, and shut down the House of Commons, the first and only time this had ever happened. The seventeen were a motley crew. They argued, they were loud, and they wouldn't take no for an answer. They pulled off a national campaign in an era when there was no social media, and with a budget that didn't stretch to long-distance phone calls. It changed their lives. And at a time when thousands of women in Canada were dying from back street abortions, it pulled women together across the country.
