Revista PhiloHistoRiSs apare de două ori pe an, în lunile iunie și decembrie și își propune să încurajeze studenții să se familiarizeze cu activitatea științifică și cu domeniul academic. Cercetarea ştiinţifică reprezintă unul dintre cele mai importante domenii de activitate pentru asigurarea unei dezvoltări durabile a României. În ciuda multitudinii de reforme ale sectorului Cercetare-Dezvoltare-Inovare (CDI) din ultimii 20 de ani cercetarea rămâne un domeniu subfinanţat, iar numărul cercetătorilor cu mult sub media europeană. În cadrul documentului: Strategia Naţională de Cercetare, Dezvoltare, Inovare 2014-2020 este subliniat explicit faptul că judecând după standardele internaţionale, dar şi după nevoile interne, România nu are destui cercetători. Astfel, scopul revistei este acela de a contribui la dezvoltarea personală şi profesională a studenţilor Facultăţii de Istorie şi Filosofie.

Ruoff has expanded upon and updated The People’s Emperor, his study of the monarchy’s role as a political, societal, and cultural institution in contemporary Japan. Many Japanese continue to define the nation’s identity through the imperial house, making it a window into Japan’s postwar history. Ruoff begins by examining the reform of the monarchy during the U.S. occupation and then turns to its evolution since the Japanese regained the power to shape it. The Cumans and the Tatars were nomadic warriors of the Eurasian steppe who exerted an enduring impact on the medieval Balkans. With this work, István Vásáry presents an extensive examination of their history from 1185 to 1365. The basic instrument of Cuman and Tatar political success was their military force, over which none of the Balkan warring factions could claim victory. As a consequence, groups of the Cumans and the Tatars settled and mingled with the local population in various regions of the Balkans. The Cumans were the founders of three successive Bulgarian dynasties (Asenids, Terterids and Shishmanids) and the Wallachian dynasty (Basarabids). They also played an active role in Byzantium, Hungary and Serbia, with Cuman immigrants being integrated into each country's elite. This book also demonstrates how the prevailing political anarchy in the Balkans in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries made it ripe for the Ottoman conquest.

In The Asanids. The Political and Military History of the Second Bulgarian Empire (1185-1280), Alexandru Madgearu offers the first comprehensive history in English of a state which played a major role in the evolution of the Balkan region during Middle Ages. This state emerged from the rebellion of two peoples, Romanians and Bulgarians, against Byzantine domination, within a few decades growing to a regional power that entered into conflict with Byzantium and with the Latin Empire of Constantinople. The founders were members of a Romanian (Vlach) family, whose intention was to revive the former Bulgarian state, the only legitimate political framework that could replace the Byzantine rule.
