Written in simple rhyme, the poems touch upon emotions, nature and imaginative situations. Other styles of poetry also have a place in the book: Acrostic, Rictameter, Haiku and Onomatopoeia. The first letter of each new line when put together forms a word/name. This is Acrostic; but the poet has also written the poem in rhyme. In Rictameter style, the poem has a diamond shaped look, as it is written in a certain number of syllables per line, in ascending and descending orders. Haiku poetry is a thought or a scene expressed in just three lines. Onomatopoeia is a poem in which sounds are expressed in words. The Songs section includes a patriotic poem, Jai Hind My India, and three children's poems, Lullaby, A Child's Song and My Little Airplane. This book of poems is sure to keep the reader enthralled.

My inspiration comes from the children in my day care. Building self-esteem isextremely important for all children, especially young children. Stimulating their young mindsis essential for their academic growth. Children continue to enjoy challenges as they grow.I believe poetry is an effective tool for helping children to memorize at a very young age.I write poetry because it is the easiest way for children to remember concepts. I triedteaching the same concepts without poetry and found it to be less interesting and theconcepts were soon forgotten. After I wrote my first poem, the children followed the pattern. They memorized itquickly and felt proud of their accomplishment. This inspired me to continue writing.Teaching is a very rewarding experience for me. It is exciting to see them learnconcepts, internalize the information and relate it appropriately. This tells me that theyactually understand what you are teaching them.I love writing and teaching and will continue to do so as long as God allows.

Stunning collage art full of rich color, glorious details, and a sense of wonder—reminiscent of the work of Ezra Jack Keats—illustrate this delightful story celebrating the poetry found in the world around us. What is poetry? Is it glistening morning dew? Spider thinks so. Is it crisp leaves crunching? That’s what Squirrel says. Could it be a cool pond, sun-warmed sand, or moonlight on the grass? Maybe poetry is all of these things, as it is something special for everyone—you just have to take the time to really look and listen. The magical thing is that poetry is in everyone, and Daniel is on his way to discovering a poem of his own after spending time with his animal friends. What is poetry? If you look and listen, it’s all around you!

At last, a collection of amusing poems for children of all ages, that sees the world through the magic and mystery of a child’s eyes… Ideal for recitation in elocution competitions or as a ‘fun way’ for parents/teachers to bond with kids... here is what some happy readers have to say… “ Kind of Dr.Suessish in style, but defiantly your own. I smiled while reading this and could not help thinking how much children would love it too! “ - Anthony Lane Stahlhut “… a great way to introduce them to poetry. It’s clever, with good rhyme, and the repetitions give it a bounce. Original and most enjoyable.” -William Muth “… a delightful poem with fresh language and appropriate parallels. I can picture the Snail, Crow and other animals. The imagery is vivid and alive!” - Gregory Christiano “I like the hesitations; it breaks the fluidity, just like children like it.” - Roger Crique “… Great poem for kids and the kid in all of us… Well constructed with good rhythm. It made me smile and made my day… humorous, serious, and warm hearted all at once….” - Richard Reed Junior “…your poem created a sense of me looking into the sky… Taking me back to when I was a kid. Innocence is spoken in these words of the butterfly” - Jack Curson “Ah...this was a delightfully amusing work!” - Debra Rose
