This collection of children's rhymes and chants were created by children, for children, and shared between children and across generations through their oral traditions. While being enormously fun and entertaining, these books have been shown to promote literacy through their use of rhythm and rhyme, encouraging children to recognize words and to predict what word/s might come next. This is the fifth book in the June Factor Far Out! series.

Poetry. "Revelator" is the opening poem in a major sequence entitled Universe. It's the jumping off point for a work that, were Ron Silliman to live long enough, would take him three centuries to complete. We are hopeful. Universe is a poem of globalization and post-global poetics (an important reason for publishing this key section outside of the USA). At its core, it addresses the problem that there are only two global systems: the biosphere and capital, while every response to these global systems is invariably local. The first appearance of "Revelator" in a journal won Poetry's Levinson prize, previously given to poets such as Robert Creeley, Theodore Roethke, Geoffrey Hill, John Ashbery, Robert Duncan, Basil Bunting, William Carlos Williams, Dylan Thomas, Hart Crane, Robert Frost, and Wallace Stevens."Called a 'thaumaturge' ('wonder-worker') by the poet Robert Duncan, Silliman has created a new kind of writing from the simplest materials ... The poet confides, describes, extols, remarks, puns, paints domestic scenes, slyly alludes, records minutiae, leaps to large statements, arouses, repeats. Through it all, a friendly, northern California sort of personality emerges."--David Melnick"What I find most striking about Silliman's sentences is that they're fun; they give pleasure in many different ways, through their wit, their allusiveness, their visuality, their phonetic texture, their descriptive precision, or their sheer unlikeliness."--Roger Gilbert"Of all the language poets, Silliman's express-line writing was and is the one that stuck to my ribs. It was so thingy, so specific, so formally radical, so hard-headed, yet witty, and now and then, in spite of itself, lyric. I liked his post-industrial music. I loved ketjak and tjanting and paradise ... And the reach--the compulsion to pull everything in."--C.D. Wright

This SAE Recommended Practice is intended to establish guidelines for conducting passenger car roll-over tests so that data obtained by various test facilities may be more readily compared. A description is provided of the facilities and procedures for a curved rail-ramp technique, which has been found to be successful in producing roll-overs. Techniques and instrumentation for the study and evaluation of vehicle structure effects and occupant movement resulting from roll-overs produced by the curved rail-ramp system are also specified. The curved rail-ramp procedure has been evolved from laboratory and field studies and tests which have sought to establish procedures which would provide realistic simulations of roll-over accidents without collision, and which would be reproducible among laboratories and between different types of passenger cars. The original issue of SAE J857 described ground level and hill roll-over techniques. However, it was found that these procedures were not always successful in producing roll-overs and the results were never reproducible. Study of the deficiencies of the previous techniques led to the addition of a curved guide rail to the ramp method of ground level roll-over, described in the original version of J857. While reproducibility of results is still limited, the curved rail-ramp system has been found to achieve roll-overs consistently, a significant step forward in the study of the roll-over event.Because there remains some general interest in the ground level and hill roll-over techniques reported originally and for historical continuity, these techniques are reported in the Appendix to this recommended practice.Procedures and equipment described will be subject to continuing review and will be revised as experience and improvements in the technology warrant.

Collision Reconstruction Methodologies - Volume 6A - The last ten years have seen explosive growth in the technology available to the collision analyst, changing the way reconstruction is practiced in fundamental ways. The greatest technological advances for the crash reconstruction community have come in the realms of photogrammetry and digital media analysis. The widespread use of scanning technology has facilitated the implementation of powerful new tools to digitize forensic data, create 3D models and visualize and analyze crash vehicles and environments. The introduction of unmanned aerial systems and standardization of crash data recorders to the crash reconstruction community have enhanced the ability of a crash analyst to visualize and model the components of a crash reconstruction. Because of the technological changes occurring in the industry, many SAE papers have been written to address the validation and use of new tools for collision reconstruction. Collision Reconstruction Methodologies Volumes 1-12 bring together seminal SAE technical papers surrounding advancements in the crash reconstruction field. Topics featured in the series include: • Night Vision Study and Photogrammetry • Vehicle Event Data Recorders • Motorcycle, Heavy Vehicle, Bicycle and Pedestrian Accident Reconstruction The goal is to provide the latest technologies and methodologies being introduced into collision reconstruction - appealing to crash analysts, consultants and safety engineers alike.

Explains that the static stability factor is an indicator of a vehicle's propensity to roll over, and that US government ratings for vehicles do not reflect differences in rollover resistance. This report states that the 5-star system should allow discrimination among vehicles and incorporate results from road tests that measure vehicle control.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, “of the nearly 9.1 million passenger car, SUV, pickup and van crashes in 2010, only 2.1% involved a rollover. However, rollovers accounted for nearly 35% of all deaths from passenger vehicle crashes. In 2010 alone, more than 7,600 people died in rollover crashes.” Rollover accidents continue to be a leading contributor of vehicle deaths. While this continues to be true, it is pertinent to understand the entire crash process. Each stage of the accident provides valuable insight into the application of reconstruction methodologies. Rollover Accident Reconstruction focuses on tripped, single vehicle rollover crashes that terminate without striking a fixed object. Topics featured in this book include: • Analysis methods through various accident phases, including advanced simulation • Vehicle event data recorder usage • Occupant ejection during rollover crash The goal of this title is to break down the various phases of a rollover crash to analyze each stage for use in the reconstruction process - to the greater understanding of crash analysts, consultants and safety engineers alike.
