Saya kira, pencapaian puitik Bernando J. Sujibto justru terdapat pada puisi-puisi lirisnya yang sublim meski bentuknya tampak sederhana. Puisi-puisi tersebut tidak terlalu panjang dan posturnya ramping, tetapi ketika membacanya justru kita harus banyak menahan napas karena keketatan dan kepadatannya yang menyesakkan dada. Lebih dari itu, karena penyair telah berhasil menggunakan peralatan bahasa yang terukur namun menohok. Acep Zamzam Noor Dalam puisi-puisinya, Bernando J. Sujibto seperti menyajikan kepada kita potret subjektivitas yang terkoyak: tubuh yang terkoyak oleh situs, situs yang membara oleh tubuh (seperti Taksim dan para demonstrannya), aku-lirik yang terkoyak oleh kata-kata dan ingatan, ingatan yang terkoyak oleh tubuh dan situs, dan seterusnya. “Tubuh ini adalah bastar di sebuah altar yang dingin”. Namun, “jalan-jalan seperti berlepasan/menuju tubuh yang siap dilahirkan/menuliskan seribu peta keberangkatan”. Terkoyak, subjektivitas itu seperti hancur dan lindas tiap saat, namun siap lahir tiap saat pula, oleh kebaruan situs dan kata-kata yang dihadirkan perjalanan. Muhammad Al-Fayyadl Sajak ini bisa digolongkan sebagai sajak impresionis. Penulis menyampaikan pengalaman yang dijumpai dalam perjalanan ke sebuah daerah di Turki yang di tempat itu terdapat bekas peninggalan zaman Romawi. Bukan pemandangan tempat yang dikunjungi itu yang penting disampaikan, melainkan kesan pribadi penulis yang ditekankan. Abdul Hadi W.M.
