The third novel in the series sees new challenges for the men of the 106th Foot, as the British army attempts to recover from the disaster of Corunna and establish a foothold in the Peninsula. Featuring the battles of Medellin and Talavera, the 106th will have their mettle severely tested on the battlefield. But if Napoleon is to be ejected from Spain, war must also be waged in more covert ways. For Hanley, the former artist who is a more natural observer than fighter, the opportunity to become an 'exploring officer' leads him into even more dangerous territory, the murky world of politics and partisans. And while Ensign Williams seeks to uncover the identity of the mysterious 'Heroine of Saragossa', a conspiracy of revenge within the regiment itself threatens to destroy him before he's even faced a shot from the French.

Mistakes that break the trust of a marriage often lead to the breakup of that most intimate of human relationships. But our God is a God of redemption and reconciliation, especially when it comes to the sanctity of what He has joined together. The mistakes that we make in marriage are quite often driven by the life experiences that we carry into adulthood. And so it is with Paul, the everyman in this story. After his infidelity is exposed, Paul's life is one of regret, and he comes to the realization that he has sacrificed the two most important things in his life: his wife and children. As he begins reading a novel based upon the Apostle Paul's shipwreck on his journey to Rome (Acts: 27), he realizes the importance of staying on the ship of faith and of marriage. He then embarks upon his own journey to draw closer to God and reconcile with his now ex-wife, Julie. In turn, Julie must wrestle with whether she can ever trust this man again. Will there be forgiveness and reconciliation in this marriage odyssey?

How to Vacation and Travel Safely..and Come Back Alive begins with the real life story of how author Earnest Hart, Jr. was held captive in Thailand while visiting for a series of kickboxing matches. Hart felt vulnerable in this foreign land where the government was run by a military that imposed their will upon the foreign contestants with Uzis and intimidation. Forced to realize that the world we live in is as dangerous outside of the ring as it is inside, Hart continued his martial arts training and added to his knowledge by studying all available material related to security. I didnt get a bit of sleep that night. I sat up in my bed with my back to the wall, looking at the door and hoping no one would come through it. I started to wonder if I was ever going to get back to the U. S. alive. No one outside of Thailand really knew where I was. The most important questions I went over many times during that night were, How could I have prevented this from happening, and how do I get out of this situation? Since 9/11, personal safety has never been more paramount. Harts book is an in-depth look at the realities of traveling in the new millennium and managing to stay safe in spite of the many obstacles that may arise. Focusing on important principles for individuals and families to help prepare themselves for real life encounters, the author lays out a detailed yet easy to understand plan for the readers to follow and make a part of their traveling and everyday routines. The Oxford Anthology Of Roman Literature written by Peter E. Knox and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-10-31 with History categories.

Though the wonders of ancient Roman culture continue to attract interest across the disciplines, it is difficult to find a lively, accessible collection of the full range of the era's literature in English. The Oxford Anthology of Roman Literature provides a general introduction to the literature of the Roman empire at its zenith, between the second century BC and the second century AD. Two features of this extraordinarily fertile period in literary achievement as evidenced by this anthology are immediately and repeatedly clear: how similar the Romans' view of the world was to our own and, perhaps even more obviously, how different it was. Most of the authors included in the anthology wrote in Latin, but as the anthology moves forward in time, relevant Greek texts that reflect the cultural diversity of Roman literary life are also included, something no other such anthology has done in the past. Roman literature was wonderfully creative and diverse, and the texts in this volume were chosen from a broad range of genres: drama, epic, philosophy, satire, lyric poetry, love poetry. By its very nature an anthology can abbreviate and thus obscure the most attractive features of even a masterpiece, so the two editors have not only selected texts that capture the essence of the respective authors, but also have included accompanying introductions and afterwords that will guide the reader in pursuing further reading. The presentations of the selections are enlivened with illustrations that locate the works within the contexts of the world in which they were written and enjoyed. The student and general reader will come away from this learned yet entertaining anthology with a fuller appreciation of the place occupied by literature in the Roman world.
