Frequenta le scuole medie e dopo due anni di lavoro in una rinomata falegnameria locale, si arruola nella Marina Militare. Dopo importanti imbarchi su varie Unità, termina la carriera trentennale sul prestigioso Cacciatorpediniere Ardito, che gli dà la possibilità di compiere una crociera intorno il mondo ove acquisisce conoscenza e sapienza. Sin da piccolo si appassiona alla musa Calliope per mezzo delle letture che il padre Pietro, con pazienza, gli andava leggendo. Però è solo nella quiescenza che gli viene l’uzzolo di scrivere. Nasce così la sua prima esperienza letteraria, Un viaggio dai mari al cielo, opera dedicata alla poesia e ai racconti. Ha collaborato con Pierino Gianuzzi alla stesura del libro sulla sua vita da internato a Mauthausen. Segue di lì a poco il romanzo Anima mia va’ in cerca di lei, che parla di un amore passionale nato nel periodo della Resistenza. Due anni dopo, scrive il romanzo L’ultimo Conte di Capitto – ambientato nei luoghi dove l’autore è nato e tuttora vive – pubblicato da Albatros Il Filo nel 2011.

The year 1543 marked the beginning of a new global consciousness in Japan with the arrival of shipwrecked Portuguese merchants on Tanegashima Island in southern Japan. Other Portuguese soon followed and Japan became aware of a world beyond India. After the merchants came the first missionary Francis Xavier in 1549, beginning the Christian century in Japan. This is not a new story, but it is the first time that Japanese, Portuguese and other European accounts have been brought together and presented in English. Their arrival was recorded by the Japanese in Tanegashima kafu, the Teppoki and the Kunitomo teppoki, here translated and presented together with European reports.
