Transmission of models and techniques in the artistic and handicraft products in Sardinia through the centuries" ("Saperi antichi e moderni. Trasmissione di modelli e tecniche nella produzione artistico-artigianale in Sardegna araverso i secoli"), Università degli Studi di Cagliari - Direzione per la Ricerca e il Territorio. Convenzione Fondazione di Sardegna. Annualità 2018. L'idea di dedicare alla produzione artistico-artigianale un Progetto di ricerca è scaturita da anni di lavoro sul campo sia nel settore delle discipline archeologiche sia storico-artistiche, che hanno evidenziato sempre più quanto la lunga tradizione artigianale di cui la Sardegna va fiera, che si esprime in manufatti in ceramica, vetro, metallo, pietra, legno e tessuto, anche solo ad un primo sguardo riveli una trasmissione di 'saperi' tecnici e artistici che si mantiene viva attraverso i secoli. Le ricerche condotte soprattutto in questi ultimi decenni, anche grazie a metodologie di indagine e di catalogazione più affinate e al supporto delle tecnologie applicate, hanno portato ad acquisire numerosi dati, che oltre ad implementare il repertorio delle conoscenze di base, hanno permesso di cogliere interrelazioni di diverso tipo in un lungo percorso diacronico.

L’espressione “Handmade in Italy” è comunemente riferita ad una variegata produzione di oggetti di artigianato locale; difficile trovarvi segnali che facciano pensare ad una interazione con la cultura del progetto. ‘Handmade in Italy’, qui adottato per la prima volta con altro significato, è invece il nome di un progetto di ricerca scientifica dell’Università della Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, assieme al progetto del Sistema Museale Regionale del Design e delle Arti Applicate, del 2002, sfociato poi nel progetto del 2010 realizzato a Pompei, il “Museo delle Imprese del prodotto di eccellenza Campano”. L’intento implicito è quello di aggiungere la quinta “A”, l’Artidesign, che è anche il titolo del noto volume di Filippo Alison e Renato De Fusco, alle altre quattro “A” del Made in Italy, una produzione sinergica, cioè, di design e artigianato che esca dal suo ruolo ancillare e romantico, che faccia ricorso, senza vecchi pregiudizi, alle tecnologie avanzate e alla digital fabrication, per rientrare a pieno titolo nel “fatto e pensato in Italia”.
