This book is designed to provide a clear, concise, readable description of what is necessary for a person to be a Christian (follower of Jesus Christ). It is targeted at two primary groups of people. The first group is people who consider themselves Christians and are interested in thinking and learning more about our Christian duty. The second group is those who have been turned off or turned away by perceived hypocrisy in the Christian Church. Jesus Christ, holy Son of God, was born, lived, died, and resurrected that we might know what God is really like, and to teach/show us what we need to do, in order that we might obtain salvation from our sins and death. We however, have an essential task - accept him as Lord and Savior, believe in him, and follow him. The rub comes in when we really understand what "believe in him" and "follow him" mean and imply. The purpose of the book is to clarify what "believe in him" and "follow him" mean and entail, as a wake-up call to Christians and potential Christians. Jesus did his part, and a wonderful part it was, but we have an important part to play too.

HOCKEY-From the Buddhist concept meaning Key to Happiness and Chilly Serenity during Bloody Brawls and Melees. How Hockey Saved the World is the greatest, if only, hockey protest book ever written. It is the often true story of how a middle-aged, overweight American got off the couch long enough to lose weight and learn to play hockey in order to find a magic puck that would end the NHL lockout, unseat President George W. Bush and end the Iraq War. A handbook on how to survive without professional sports while becoming a better parent, achieving world peace and playing hockey, however poorly. "A tongue-in-cheek view of politics and sports, delivering humor and laughs that recall the work of Mark Twain, Joseph Heller and Ambrose Bierce. -Cliff Bellamy, Durham Herald-Sun "[T]he author's subversive wit and genuine belief in the game's magic are oddly persuasive. An amiable meditation to warm even the iciest hearts." - Kirkus Discoveries After reading How Hockey Saved the World, and seeing the error of my ways, I will resign the Office of the Presidency effective January 15, 2009. -President George W. Bush

Enjoy this bad-boy billionaire romance collection at a terrific discount. In this collection of romances by Ivy Wonder, you'll find three Bad Boys who love and celebrate even more violently. These are the books that this collection includes: The Nurses of Saint Christopher’s (A Secrets of the Flame Extra) Rule number one, don't fall for your patients. Rule number two, forget rule number one … He showed up in the ER with a broken tibia and a charming smile on his ruggedly handsome face. I soon found out he couldn't take no for an answer, but then again, I answered with my own charming smile every time he asked me out. One steamy night in his hospital bed changed my mind about everything. He made my dreams dim in comparison to what he could do for me. But could a spoiled billionaire and a hard-working nurse really last … Repairing Tara (A What the Doctor’s Orders Extra) He came through my door unannounced and uninvited or so I’d thought. How could such a handsome man with impeccable style be a plumber? Mark Cofield owned one of the most well-respected plumbing businesses in Seattle. So why was he in my home installing a jacuzzi tub when he could’ve sent an employee to do the job? Seemed he’d seen me around town, heard I was single, and took on the job just to be around me. Flattered? You bet I was. But I wasn’t ready to do anything with the opposite sex. Not yet. I had to find me first. And I had no idea who I was or where to start looking for that girl I’d lost, what seemed like a lifetime ago. Persistent, patient, and unwavering adoration made Mark a hard man to hold off. Do I even want to… Midnight Surprise (The Doctor’s Nanny Extra) I watched her dancing without a care in the world and knew I had to make her mine… The way her body moved captivated me in a way nothing ever had. Wild, young, free—she was all I never was. Broken early on in life, my youth stolen, I’d never felt free a day in my life. Until her body pressed against mine and our souls collided in the process… I felt his eyes ravaging my body before he ever touched me… Tall, dark, handsome, and totally brooding, he had my attention from the moment I saw him. Most would’ve been afraid of the man who looked like he’d seen things no human was ever meant to see. Not me, though. Keywords: billionaire, bad boy, love books, love stories, new adult, sweet romance, romantic novels, sexually romantic books, guaranteed HEA, no cliffhangers, happily ever after.

“A historical demonstration of the indispensability of the First Amendment [and] … an earnest and timely argument for [its] enduring value.” —Kirkus Reviews "Great storytelling about the history and importance of the First Amendment, from someone who has spent his life defending — and using — it." —Mary Beth Tinker Free speech is not an obstacle to change: it is the way change happens Uncovering vivid and engaging stories about First Amendment pioneers, How Free Speech Saved Democracy shows how their struggle made possible the surging protests that aim to expand democracy today. How Free Speech Saved Democracy is a revealing reminder that First Amendment rights have often been curtailed in efforts to block progress, and that current measures to reduce hurtful language and to end hate speech could backfire on those who promote them. To those who see free speech as a threat to democracy, Finan offers engaging evidence from a long and sometimes challenging history of free speech in America to show how free speech has been essential to expanding democracy. From the beginning of American history, free speech has been used to advocate for change. In the 19th century, abolitionists, advocates for women’s rights, and leaders of the labor movement had to fight for free speech. In the 20th century, the civil rights and anti-war movements expanded free speech, creating a shield for every protest movement we see today. Written by a historian who became a full-time defender of civil liberties and has spent four decades advocating for the rights of victims of censorship, this book grew out of Finan’s desire to address the declining support for free speech that is occurring as our country becomes increasingly polarized. Through his evocative storytelling Finan demonstrates how the most effective antidote for the growth of hate speech and violence is support for and cultivation of the robust alternative of free speech.
