The publication of this clinically analytical and trenchantly insightful volume is felicitously timed. By fortuitous coincidence, it comes at a time when the Chicago School enjoys a high-water mark of acceptance in U.S. legal circles, and at a time when the U.S. merger movement of the 1980s is cresting. Once an industrial giant becomes lethargic and no longer bestows its productive beneficence on society, it will inevitably wither and eventually die. This is the "natural law" that governs economic life. It demands obedience to its rules. It tolerates no interference by the state.

Die vorliegende Arbeit leistet einen Beitrag zur gründungsdidaktisch innovativen Förderung von Unternehmensgründungen aus Hochschulen. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Entwicklung einer adressatenorientierten, methodisch neuartigen, universitären Gründungsqualifizierung. Für dieses Lehrangebot werden innovative handlungsorientierte Methodenarrangements entwickelt, die dazu geeignet sind, einen Einblick in die komplexe unternehmerische Realität zu ermöglichen. Durch den Einsatz praxisorientierter, an die Unternehmeraufgabe angelehnter Lehr-/Lernarrangements können zusätzliche Studierende zu den bereits Gründungsinteressierten für eine Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema ‚berufliche Selbstständigkeit’ gewonnen werden. In diesem Zusammenhang stehen die drei schulischen Methodischen Großformen Lernbüro, Übungsfirma und Juniorenfirma im Vordergrund dieser Arbeit. Nach einer detaillierten Analyse ihrer Struktur werden sie zu einem schulischen ‚Dreischritt’ zusammengeführt, der durch einen systematischen Aufbau dieser Methodischen Großformen gekennzeichnet ist. Begibt sich ein Lernender auf diesen Qualifizierungspfad, so nähert er sich auf jeder Ebene zunehmend der betrieblichen Praxis bzw. Realität an. Das Konzept des schulischen ‚Dreischritts’ aufgreifend, erfolgt anschließend die Entwicklung einer methodischen Innovation für die universitäre Gründungsqualifizierung. Zielsetzung ist es, den Studierenden sukzessive an das Thema der ‚unternehmerischen Selbstständigkeit’ heranzuführen. Dementsprechend werden unterrichtliche Faktorenkomplexe für ein Lernbüro, eine Übungsfirma und eine Juniorenfirma im universitären Kontext der Gründungsqualifizierung inhaltlich ausgestaltet. Die Entwicklung mündet in einen universitären ‚Dreischritt’, der als Alternativvorschlag zu anderen gründungsbezogenen Veranstaltungen verstanden wird. Abschließend werden wesentliche Erkenntnisse, die durch die Umsetzung des ‚Dreischritts’ an der Hochschule gewonnen wurden, dargestellt.
