It's a hard life being a Frontier Corps Ranger in Sector 12. Operating outside human-controlled space, dealing every day with hostile alien governments, criminals, anti-Frontier Corps paramilitary groups and the like while serving simultaneously as soldier, scout, operative, spy and roving law enforcement officer. Still Red (or Rab, or Rubicon, or a lot of other less polite names, ) manages to stay on top of things. Sure his methods might be just a mite, err, dynamic, garnering (wholly baseless) charges of being terminally insane, but at least he's always gotten the job done. So far. His current assignment might break that streak. A Frontier planet is the victim of extremely barbaric raiders, and the Ranger they've sent a distress call to is unavailable. In order to fulfill his mission Red might have to be polite to the settlers, maintain cordial relations, and worst of all, perhaps even compromise here and there. To die trying no longer seems like the worst possible outcome.

Rab's got a problem. Well, he's got several. It's not just that he's living outside human space and that humanity's defenses keep him there. It's not that he's a Ranger for the Frontier Corps, a more or less unsupported soldier with few resources and no backup. It's not even that Sector 12 is filled with a multitude of alien races that don't recognize his authority and so view him as a criminal or, worse, an enemy. No, Rab can deal with all this. He's dealt with it for a while. His real problems arrive when a group of Frontier Corps Marines gets blasted into Sector 12 during an unsuccessful attack. Rab is assigned the task of rescuing them, which is easier said than done given that someone almost immediately blows up his ship and tries to either kill or capture him for reasons unknown. That could be a problem.

Using the founding of the Student Cultural Center Belgrade in 1971 as a starting point, the book details the pioneering work of women in the realm of curation, where they developed radical exhibition concepts and programs that furthered the development of the New Art Practice and embedded Yugoslavia firmly on the map of the international postwar-avantgardes. It highlights the agency of female artists in the then-novel realms of performance art, video art, and new media art and shows how their work has helped these disciplines to gain the impact they retain until the present day. What is more, it shows how female cultural workers have courageously used their work to further the discourse on gender, sexuality, and the female body and, at a time when they saw themselves stripped of basic rights by the chauvinist-nationalist regimes emerging after Yugoslavia's breakup, formed a strong artistic and activist opposition.
