This book applies the concept of synchronization to security of global heterogeneous and hetero-standard systems by modeling the relationship of risk access spots (RAS) between advanced and developing economies network platforms. The proposed model is more effective in securing the electronic security gap between these economies with reference to real life applications, such as electronic fund transfer in electronic business. This process involves the identification of vulnerabilities on communication networks. This book also presents a model and simulation of an integrated approach to security and risk known as Service Server Transmission Model (SSTM).

Written by a team of experts at the forefront of the cyber-physical systems (CPS) revolution, this book provides an in-depth look at security and privacy, two of the most critical challenges facing both the CPS research and development community and ICT professionals. It explores, in depth, the key technical, social, and legal issues at stake, and it provides readers with the information they need to advance research and development in this exciting area. Cyber-physical systems (CPS) are engineered systems that are built from, and depend upon the seamless integration of computational algorithms and physical components. Advances in CPS will enable capability, adaptability, scalability, resiliency, safety, security, and usability far in excess of what today’s simple embedded systems can provide. Just as the Internet revolutionized the way we interact with information, CPS technology has already begun to transform the way people interact with engineered systems. In the years ahead, smart CPS will drive innovation and competition across industry sectors, from agriculture, energy, and transportation, to architecture, healthcare, and manufacturing. A priceless source of practical information and inspiration, Security and Privacy in Cyber-Physical Systems: Foundations, Principles and Applications is certain to have a profound impact on ongoing R&D and education at the confluence of security, privacy, and CPS.

The enormous success and diffusion that online social networks (OSNs) are encountering nowadays is vastly apparent. Users' social interactions now occur using online social media as communication channels; personal information and activities are easily exchanged both for recreational and business purposes in order to obtain social or economic advantages. In this scenario, OSNs are considered critical applications with respect to the security of users and their resources, for their characteristics alone: the large amount of personal information they manage, big economic upturn connected to their commercial use, strict interconnection among users and resources characterizing them, as well as user attitude to easily share private data and activities with strangers. In this book, we discuss three main research topics connected to security in online social networks: (i) trust management, because trust can be intended as a measure of the perception of security (in terms of risks/benefits) that users in an OSN have with respect to other (unknown/little-known) parties; (ii) controlled information sharing, because in OSNs, where personal information is not only connected to user profiles, but spans across users' social activities and interactions, users must be provided with the possibility to directly control information flows; and (iii) identity management, because OSNs are subjected more and more to malicious attacks that, with respect to traditional ones, have the advantage of being more effective by leveraging the social network as a new medium for reaching victims. For each of these research topics, in this book we provide both theoretical concepts as well as an overview of the main solutions that commercial/non-commercial actors have proposed over the years. We also discuss some of the most promising research directions in these fields.

Recommendation For Selecting A Secure Authentication System For Online Systems written by Ryan Cooper and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015 with categories.

Abstract - Authentication systems are an important aspect when using an online system; they ensure that users of such systems are in fact who they claim to be. It is important that a commissioner of an online system chooses an authentication system that enables the best security depending on what the purpose of the system is. This paper proposes a visual recommendation tool of which a commissioner of an online system can use to aid them in the decision of which authentication system they should choose for the service of which they wish to provide; this is because when research was conducted on this research topic a gap in the market was discovered and therefore there is no other tool at current which helps in this decision. This paper explores the alternative authentication systems of which currently exist such as bio-metrics, as opposed to the usual user name and password systems that exist on such online systems as Facebook and other social networking sites. This paper looks further into why these systems are not more commonly used.Within this paper there are also common ways in which people can gain access to authentication systems, this is because it is the belief of the author of this paper that not enough is known about internet security for an average user and that more needs to be done by the creators of online services to ensure that their users are protected when using them.
