Penyidik senior Novel Baswedan dikriminalisasi. Serangan dari segala arah tak pernah henti: mulai dengan menabrak lari penyidik, menyewa dukun santet, hingga menggencarkan perang wacana—entah mengatakan tebang pilih, terpengaruh konstelasi politik, bahkan menilai para pemimpin KPK banci kamera. KPK bukan lembaga tanpa cela, tapi ikhtiar memberantas korupsi memang mengundang musuh-musuh tersendiri. Buku ini merekam satu dekade bagaimana KPK tak lekang betapa pun keras ia dihantam. Keterangan Seri Penegak Hukum Kisah KPK merupakan jilid kedua seri “Penegak Hukum”, yang diangkat dari liputan khusus Majalah Berita Mingguan Tempo, awal Januari 2013. Menyorot sepak terjang para pendekar hukum, serial ini ingin menunjukkan bahwa di tengah sengkarut zaman kita tak selalu kehilangan harapan."""

Twenty-nine articles discuss general issues, control via codes of conduct and legal and formal means, anti-corruption measures in civil service and government agencies, prevention and sanctions, people and reform, and whistleblowing. The articles (reproduced in facsimile) are from journals such as Comparative Politics, Crime, Law, and Social Change, Corruption Reform, and European Journal of Development Research. Civil Society And The Security Sector written by Marina Caparini and has been published by LIT Verlag Münster this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006 with History categories.

This volume analyses the role of civil society in the reform and oversight of the security sector in post- communist countries as a key aspect of the transition towards democracy. It is widely accepted that civil society actors have an important contribution to make in the governance of the security sector. However, that specific role has not been subject to much close or comparative examination. This book constitutes an attempt to examine and compare experiences of civil society participation in security oversight across Central and Eastern Europe. The first part of the volume presents the reader with the theoretical and conceptual background against which the potential role of civil society in security sector governance can be understood and assessed. The remainder of the book is comprised of nine country studies of civil society engagement with the security sector. Reviewing developments over the past 15 years of regime transformation in the region, the book draws upon a rich variety of cases that cast light on the different experiences, challenges, and successes of civil society actors and the media in democratisation, security sector reform, and the exercise of democratic oversight of the security sector.

WINNER OF THE NOBEL PRIZE© IN LITERATURE 2013 A New York Times Notable Book A Washington Post Notable Work of Fiction A Best Book of the Year: The Atlantic, NPR, San Francisco Chronicle, Vogue, AV Club In story after story in this brilliant new collection, Alice Munro pinpoints the moment a person is forever altered by a chance encounter, an action not taken, or a simple twist of fate. Her characters are flawed and fully human: a soldier returning from war and avoiding his fiancée, a wealthy woman deciding whether to confront a blackmailer, an adulterous mother and her neglected children, a guilt-ridden father, a young teacher jilted by her employer. Illumined by Munro’s unflinching insight, these lives draw us in with their quiet depth and surprise us with unexpected turns. And while most are set in her signature territory around Lake Huron, some strike even closer to home: an astonishing suite of four autobiographical tales offers an unprecedented glimpse into Munro’s own childhood. Exalted by her clarity of vision and her unparalleled gift for storytelling, Dear Life shows how strange, perilous, and extraordinary ordinary life can be.

A History Of The Science And Politics Of Climate Change written by Bert Bolin and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008-10-30 with Science categories.

How did the global climate change issues emerge? The issue of human-induced global climate change became a major environmental concern during the twentieth century. In response to growing concern about human-induced global climate change, the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was formed in 1988. Written by its first chairman, this book is an overview of the history of the IPCC. It describes and evaluates the intricate interplay between key factors in the science and politics of climate change, the strategy that has been followed, and the regretfully slow pace in getting to grips with the uncertainties that have prevented earlier action being taken. The book also highlights the emerging conflict between establishing a sustainable global energy system and preventing a serious change in global climate. This text provides researchers and policy makers with an insight into the history of the politics of climate change.
