La raccolta di racconti brevi “Sette misteri, sette fantasie e altri racconti” riunisce le composizioni che l’Autore ha scritto nell’arco di più di un decennio, e ai quali si è deciso di apportare un’adeguata e quanto più possibile attraente veste letteraria in vista di una loro pubblicazione. Tutti i racconti qui presentati sono stati pubblicati in vari siti informatici e sulla rivista “Osservatorio Letterario” di Ferrara. Nel 2011 la prima raccolta, che comprendeva soltanto i primi sette racconti è stata pubblicata on line per conto di “OperaUno”, a seguito di un concorso letterario per la sezione “narrativa” indetta proprio dalla società letteraria “Opera Uno”, concorso in cui l’Autore è stato insignito del terzo premio. Con l’aggiunta del titolo “e altri racconti” a “Sette misteri, sette fantasie” il libro appare ora presso le edizioni “Youcanprint”. Le narrazioni hanno tutte un carattere squisitamente fantastico, e i soggetti, pur nella loro varietà, sono accomunati da una profonda unità tematica, nella quale emergono sempre le stesse domande fondamentali sulla vita, sull’amore, sulla morte. Lo sfondo oltreché teologico e religioso, è filosofico e metafisico. Nei primi due racconti l’ispirazione è tratta dal “Genesi” biblico, e si focalizza sul mistero della creazione della donna e sull’imperfezione del mondo e sulla corruzione dell’uomo che secondo l’Autore, nemmeno Dio può riuscire a vincere. Per questo il “Diluvio Universale” si ripete una seconda volta. Il terzo racconto solo apparentemente sembra di “fantascienza”. In realtà si propone come una riflessione sulla necessità dell’errore e dell’imperfezione dell’uomo. L’eliminazione assoluta della follia e dell’aggressività non sarà mai garanzia di felicità e di vero progresso morale dell’esistere umano e sociale. Il quarto racconto, “Il sogno del professore”, è una fantasiosa riflessione sul misero della scrittura e sulla sua impossibilità di rivelare il segreto della vita che ad essa si affida per trasmettere e per comunicare le sue esperienze, le sue attese, le sue speranze. Seguono una fantasia sul destino ultraterreno dell’uomo (“Dialogo di Piero il morto con gli uccelli del cimitero”), e, successivamente “Pigmalione e la statua sapiente”, che è una fantasia incentrata sulle inevitabili insoddisfazioni della vita matrimoniale negli artisti, negli scrittori e in tutti coloro che sono dotati di un certo talento, se non proprio di genio. Nello stesso tempo colpisce con ironia però le deviazioni fantasiose dei sognatori sull’amore. L’ultimo dei “sette misteri” nasce dagli studi compiuti dall’Autore nei suoi ultimi anni di insegnamento universitario, (è stato infatti docente ordinario di Storia della Filosofia presso l’Università di Verona), sui problemi dell’ “Intelligenza Artificiale” e delle cosiddette “Realtà Virtuali” ed espone con la massima intensità che l’Autore è riuscito ad esprimere, i suoi timori per il progresso travolgente della tecnica e delle scienze, per la loro crescente presa di potere e di dominio sull’uomo, che ne diventa inconsapevolmente e colpevolmente schiavo, e viene ad essere svuotato di ogni interiorità e di ogni possibilità di creatività di vita. Ma sono anche presenti nel racconto vive tematiche teologiche nelle quali viene tratta ispirazioni dalle grandi eresie gnostiche antiche e medievali. E tematiche affini vengono riprese nell’ottavo racconto “La società della morte dolce”, che allude non troppo scopertamente alle pratiche di eutanasia che sono state purtroppo accolte con troppo favore da alcune Nazioni del pianeta Terra. Gli ultimi racconti “Dialogo fra un pianetino e la Terra”, “La storia che non fu mai scritta del cattivo ladrone” e “Un prologo in cielo, una discesa sulla terra”, sono apologhi fantastici di riflessione sulla vita nel cosmo e sulla Terra, sul senso dell’esistenza dell’uomo, sulle misteriose e segrete relazioni tra la sofferenza dell’uomo in tutta la sua storia e la presenza di Dio nella nostra vita.
