Einleitung: In Vorbereitung auf diese Arbeit kam ich mit zahlreichen Menschen über den Titel meiner Ausarbeitung ins Gespräch. Es war sehr erstaunlich, die vielfältigen Reaktionen der anderen aufzugreifen. Denn schließlich ist der Titel so unmissverständlich, dass sehr wohl deutlich ist, worum es mir geht. Von Fachfremden wurde das Thema eher erschreckend aufgegriffen. Ihr Blick sagte mir, dass man über so etwas doch nicht ernsthaft eine Abschlussarbeit schreiben kann. Doch kommt man mit ihnen ins Gespräch und erklärt die Präsens und Aktualität der Thematik, so weckt man viel Interesse und wird mit zahlreichen Fragen überschüttet. Diese Gruppe von Menschen ist häufig in der deutschen Bevölkerung vorzufinden. Auf der einen Seite scheinen sie aufgeklärt und auf der anderen Seite existieren so viele Fragen zum Thema. So auch im Bereich der Demenzerkrankung. Denn hierzu sind ebenfalls viele ungeklärte Fragen in den Köpfen der Menschen aufgetaucht. Neben der Auseinandersetzung mit der Demenzerkrankung ist vor allem ein Bezug zur Sexualität alter Menschen sehr wichtig. Denn die Sexualität im Alter galt über viele Jahrzehnte als ein Tabuthema in der Gesellschaft. Man denkt darüber einfach nicht nach, ob alte Menschen immer noch ein Bedürfnis nach sexueller Aktivität haben oder diese gar ausleben. Alterssexualität im heutigen Zeitalter ist also immer noch ein sehr schambehaftetes Thema in der allgemeinen Bevölkerung. Kommt zu der Alterssexualität die Erkrankung der Demenz hinzu, entsteht bei vielen Angehörigen und Mitarbeitern in stationärer Einrichtungen eine zunehmende Belastung im Umgang mit den alten Menschen. Im Austausch mit Fachkundigen aus den verschiedenen Arbeitsbereichen, wie Gerontologie, Pflege, Sozialer Arbeit und Medizin stellt man fest, dass diese Thematik unmittelbar einen großen Redebedarf hervorruft. Jeder hat aus seiner Praxiserfahrung einen Teil dazu beizutragen und kommt aus der Komplexität gar nicht mehr heraus. Ein wesentlicher Faktor im Austausch mit Professionellen war mir, herauszufinden, welchen Stellenwert die Sexualität im Alter in der Ausbildung von Pflegepersonal derzeit hat. Exemplarisch habe ich eine Umfrage an Altenpflegeschulen durchgeführt, welche verdeutlicht, in wie weit das Thema überhaupt in der Ausbildung präsent ist und wie stark es gewichtet wird. [...]
