Shango and The Amazing Magical NO WORRIES Spell is part of a series of books which aim to deal with a number of childhood issues, such as sleep, fears & phobias and anger using direct suggestion and repetition. This Book deals specifically with Anxiety and Worry.SHANGO and the Amazing Magical NO WORRIES Spell aims to deal with Anxiety within children. anxiety or worry is a common issue among children and can take many different forms. Anxiety can have adverse effects on behavior and health and can include General Anxiety Disorder (GAD), stomach pains, inorganic hearing loss, sleeplessness, bed-wetting, panic attacks, separation anxiety, repetitive behavior and disrupted eating habits. Anxiety can be a normal passing phase and part of growing up; however if the symptoms persist for more than a couple of weeks or to the point where you are concerned, then professional advice should be obtained. Shango Books are based around the central character of Shango Tidbog. Shango and his friends, using 'magic spells' to help children overcome common issues. Tidbogs live in both the real world and the 'Dream World', where they have the power to help their 'special friend' (the child) and confer spells upon them given by Tidbog wizards, known as Wizbogs. ALL the books have a common thread to improve positivity and happiness within the child. Therefore not only will the books alleviate or even nullify the child's specific issue but in addition, aim to leave them with a happier and more positive disposition. The books are not intended as traditional stories for children; the emphasis is on the book being a tool for the parent to help their children overcome the specific childhood issues that concern the child or parent. The books use repetition and direct suggestion to instil in the listener a positive message. They are not intended as a replacement for medical treatment but more as an addition to it where applicable. The Books adopt a threefold approach; firstly, similar to traditional children's books, they aim to endear the child to the characters and story. Secondly, using direct suggestion they aim to help the child with the condition dealt with in the story, for example; anxiety. Lastly, there are pages provided to encourage the child to draw on and to interact with the story after the first reading, the following day or after a nap. These pages serve to include the child more with the 'process' and to help the child to 'open up' giving the parent an insight into the child's thoughts and feelings.....or just to have fun with Shango.

The Yorùbá was one of the most important civilizations of sub-Saharan Africa. While the high quality and range of its artistic and material production have long been recognized, the art of the Yorùbá has been judged primarily according to the standards and principles of Western aesthetics. In this book, which merges the methods of art history, archaeology, and anthropology, Rowland Abíọ́dún offers new insights into Yorùbá art and material culture by examining them within the context of the civilization's cultural norms and values and, above all, the Yorùbá language. Abíọ́dún draws on his fluency and prodigious knowledge of Yorùbá culture and language to dramatically enrich our understanding of Yorùbá civilization and its arts. The book includes a companion website with audio clips of the Yoruba language, helping the reader better grasp the integral connection between art and language in Yoruba culture.
