Sharing the Holy Light tells the story of Paulus, a former guard of the Apostle Paul, and of Paulus' sister Livia. As a new "Christ follower", Paulus struggles to find answers about his new faith and the God he now claims to serve. His search for answers takes him to Ephesus, where he meets the Apostle John. In this encounter, he learns many of the stories of Jesus and His life on earth. Livia and her husband Tatius have settled in Arelate (Arles), in Southern Gaul, and have begun a successful Christian ministry to the people of that region. Sharing the Holy Light is set during the time just before the death of Emperor Nero and in the tumultuous years that follow. It is a time of unrest and violence, and, as "Christ followers", the book's characters are caught in the web of uncertainty that engulfs the entire Roman Empire.

When a person embarks upon their spiritual journey into a higher state of consciousness, a breakdown of epic and unmanageable proportions often occurs. This breakdown can open them up to communion with what is described as a Holy Light. Trauma, and near death experiences were often consistently testified as feeling and seeing a Holy Light. This dissertation discusses the intersection of the Holy Light and the individual. The Holy Light is both God, and the creative force Christians call the Holy Spirit. Historical works, and numerous accounts of current day revelations from varied sources, cite the powerful moments transpired, elevating a person into the truth of oneness or presence with the Holy Light. These experiences even if known for but a moment, can irrevocably change the course of oneÕs life. In the moments of deep surrender and vibrational alignment, this Holy Light comes rushing in, and oneness is once again remembered.

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” –Matthew 5:16 As believers, we know it is important to share our faith, but it is not something that comes easily or naturally to most of us. So we don’t do it much. Shine His Light offers a simple solution to that situation. It teaches you how to primarily pray for neighbors. Then as a result of your prayers, you begin to naturally want to reach out and care for them, than eventually share Christ with them. Shine His Light explains the simple “prayer-care-share” method of loving neighbors to Jesus Christ. Its content will provide your family, small group or church with the tools they need to reach out without effort or fear.

We know how the story begins. Now take a fresh look at Gods first recorded words. And God said, Let there be light, and there was light (Genesis 1:3). In John 8:12, Jesus said, I am the light of the world. This light goes on forever, just as the love of God never ends. Follow the Light links the first words God spoke in the Bible to the experiences of Gods people and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Delve into an exploration of the Scriptures, considering all the ways that light is a metaphor for God, His Kingdom, and His infinite love. Created for individuals and small groups, Follow the Light examines Gods presence in various forms of light, and uses numerous scriptural references to show us that the presence of our Heavenly Father is all around us. This eight-week study is divided into personal, daily assignments along with suggested prayer topics to encourage regular conversations with our Heavenly Father. The final chapter is designed as a self-reflection tool and offers suggestions to develop a rich and fulfilling prayer life. As you complete this Bible study, and contemplate on the glory of Gods Word and the vastness of His creation, you will begin to feel our Heavenly Fathers constant presence and visibility in your life. and there was beautiful, life-giving, and loving light.

LISTEN TO ITS RHYTHMS WITH AN OPEN HEART The Book of the Holy Light reveals the nature of God in the form of the Son of God. The first chapter, The Testament of the Holy Light of God, opens the framework of existence in the body of God revealing the nature of light in the embrace of unity. The book continues with The Testament of the Son of God inviting the children of light to return home to the inner space of God. The next chapter, The Twelve Transformations of the Holy Light of God, awakens the inner transformations of consciousness transmuting the children of light into the body of God. Next, The Trans-portal Matrix of Divine Grace describes the inter-connecting matrix of consciousness binding the children of light in the body of God. The book continues with The Dimensions of Light opening the multi-dimensional universe to the children of God. The next chapter, The Forms of Ascending Light, triggers the mechanisms of ascension in the consciousness of the child of light. Finally, The Circle of Ascending Light weaves a tapestry of light around the children of God connecting them to the body of God. "This is the story of light told through revelation. To appreciate it fully you must set aside your intellect and, like poetry, listen to its rhythms with an open heart." Tony Ellis, award winning poet and author of There is Wisdom in Walnuts

"One of the most effective ways to heal people and draw them close to God is through teaching and preaching." -Saint John Chrysostom The ultimate goal of a sermon, as well as any teaching in the Church, is not simply to increase our knowledge of the faith but to inspire and motivate change in our lives. This is what St John Chrysostom meant when he talks about the most effective way of healing people. The purpose is to help people encounter the living God so that they invite His Spirit into their lives to guide and direct them, to inspire and empower them, to comfort and heal them, to lead them to repentance and change, and to recreate each person more and more into the likeness of God. Here lies my hope for this book. We live in a day and age where our lives are filled with busyness and superficial nonsense. We need to remember the advice of the Psalmist to "Be still and know that I am God." In silence and stillness we encounter God. In dedicating time to dwell in His Presence we nourish our souls. We need to consciously choose to take time each day to fill our minds with spiritually uplifting words which enrich our hearts. My prayer is that you will find such words in this book that will bless your heart and nourish your soul. About the Author Fr. Luke A. Veronis has served as a Greek Orthodox priest for 26 years. For the past 16 years he has been pastoring Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Webster, MA. Simultaneously he directs the Missions Institute of Orthodoxy Christianity at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, where he teaches as an adjunct instructor at both Holy Cross and Hellenic College. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Orthodox Christian Mission Center. Fr. Luke has been involved in the Orthodox Church's missionary movement since 1987. Together with his wife Presbytera Faith, he served as a missionary in post-communist Albania for ten and a half years, and in East Africa for eighteen months. He has led nine Project Mexico mission teams to Tijuana, Mexico where his church group has built homes for needy families while supporting the St. Innocent Orphanage. Sharing Visions written by Ralph Milton and has been published by CSS Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003 with Religion categories.

The Bible is filled with many familiar stories of mystical experiences -- Moses and the burning bush, Samuel in the temple, the angel's visit to Mary, and Paul's Damascus road experience are just a few examples -- and many modern Christians have equally powerful experiences of the Lord's life-changing power and presence. In this follow-up volume to Vision Stories, 84 contributors share their authentic, intensely personal accounts of encountering the divine, including visions, healing miracles, and answers to prayer. Each vignette manifests the indescribable joy, comfort, and peace we experience in God's presence. And because each personal story also illustrates a scripture passage from Cycle C of the Revised Common Lectionary, Sharing Visions is an especially valuable resource for lectionary preaching. But even more, it's inspiring reading for personal devotion and spiritual growth. Praise for Vision Stories and Sharing Visions: I am rejoicing as I read the testimonies in Sharing Visions and Vision Stories. What an inspiration! Richard B. Wilke Author of the Disciple Bible Study series Storytelling has long been a deep, rich resource for sharing our faith with one another. In Sharing Visions, John Sumwalt connects readers with the power of stories for recognizing and celebrating God's presence in the midst of our daily lives. Through reading and reflecting on these stories, readers are invited into God's ongoing story of creation, redemption, and empowerment. Carol F. Krau Director of Christian Formation and Spiritual Leadership General Board of Discipleship, United Methodist Church This dynamic, moving, and deeply authentic collection of true stories will carry readers on a powerful journey of healing and inspiration. Sharing Visions will appeal to Catholic and Protestant alike. Deacon Eddie Ensley Author of Visions: The Soul's Path To The Sacred At long last someone has demonstrated the courage to lift the veil of silence that so often covers the mystical experiences of ordinary people. By denying the reality of these experiences we have denied spiritual sustenance and growth to many. Vision Stories is a forerunner of the feast that is to come for all who earnestly seek to walk with God. Reuben P. Job Author of A Guide to Spiritual Discernment This wonderful collection of stories reminds us of a fact our world desperately needs to know -- that God is alive and well and ready to be at work in our daily lives. J. Ellsworth Kalas Author of New Testament Stories from the Back Side A noted storyteller, John E. Sumwalt is the pastor of Wauwatosa Avenue United Methodist Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The author of CSS' acclaimed Lectionary Stories series, Sumwalt leads seminars and retreats on sharing and understanding visions. Now in paperback, from the New York Times best-selling author of Sacred Contracts and Anatomy of the Spirit, a timely guide with 100 prayers for entering into a personal relationship with the Divine. "I've loved so many of Caroline Myss's books, but maybe none so much as Intimate Conversations with the Divine. Has there ever been a more urgent need for her unique and profound (and sometimes wonderfully cranky) take on our spiritual reality, healing, and the language of holiness?" -- Anne Lamott, author of Traveling Mercies and Help, Thanks, Wow In her most personal book to date--now available in paperback for the first time--beloved teacher and best-selling author Caroline Myss draws on her own practice to help us regain our fluency in the language of prayer and renew our connection to the sacred. Intimate Conversations with the Divine offers 100 of Myss's personal prayers as a resource and inspiration to start a prayer practice of your own. Each prayer illustrates a different type of grace that feeds the human soul, from awakening, endurance, and healing, to silence, surrender, and trust. "We are one holy system of life and great cosmic truth, which is that all life--including all of us--breathes together," Myss writes. "I hope this book, these prayers, will bring you comfort and grace, and help you through the difficult times ahead. And I hope they will inspire you to believe that with God, all things are possible."
