Vigyan Bhairav Tantra book arises from such an inspiration where their longing and mating has been observed from a neutral standpoint. As Shakti inquires, Shiva responds and illuminates. And then they rejoice in the celebration of wisdom illuminations and their eternal love lock. Advaita, tantra, yoga and all concepts are various ways their sambhoga (sacred ritual of communion) fructifies. In my own journey, the Sri chakra symbolically connotes this fusion where the Shiva and Shakti archetypes find themselves in an ars erotica at its "bindu". My guru, Bhagwan Ramana Maharishi is its physical manifestation. In him; I find my forte of jnana of Shiva and the karuna (compassion) of Shakti. Inspired from the vignana bhairava tantra, 112 such talks have been compiled here. They do not come from any scriptural source and are not meant to be practised as reference points in one's spiritual journey. They are the sukshm (subtle) murmerings that happen at the hridhyam (heart) and are only meant to nudge the reader to do his own inner work.

Lord Shiva is the great figure in the modern pantheon. In contrast to the regal attributes of Vishnu, Shiva is a figure of renunciation, an ascetic, performing meditation alone in the Himalayas. There he sits on a tiger skin, clad only on a loincloth, covered with sacred ash that gives his skin a grey colour. His trident is stuck into the ground next to him. Around his neck is a snake. From his matted hair, tied in a topknot, the river Ganges descends to the earth. His neck is blue, a reminder of the time he drank the poison that emerged while gods and demons competed to churn the milk ocean. Shiva often appears as an antisocial being, which once burned up Kama, the god of love, with a glance. But behind this image is the cosmic lord who, through the very power of his meditating consciousness, expands the entire universe and all beings in it. Although he appears to be hard to attain, in reality Shiva is loving deity who saves those devotees who are wholeheartedly dedicated to him.There are many instances of pure hearted devotion to the beautiful lord and the final revelation of himself as Shiva after testing the devotees. Shiva often appears on earth in disguise, perhaps as a wandering Brahman priest, to challenge the charity of belief of a suffering servant, only to appear eventually in his true nature. Many of these divine plays are connected directly with specific people and specific sites.The lord Shiva has been depicted in a variety of guises; Bhikshatana, the beggar lord, Bhairava, a horrible, destructive image; or Nataraja, the lord of dance, beating a drum that keeps time while he manifests the universe. Because he withholds his sexual urges and controls them, Shiva is able to change sexual energy in to creative power, by generating intense heat. It is, in fact, the heat generated from discipline and austerity that is seen as the source for the generative power of all renunciants, and in this sense Shiva is often connected with wandering orders of monks in modern India. The male principle (purusha), the prime source of generative power but dormant, and a female principle that came to be known as prakriti, an active principle that manifests reality, or power (Shakti), at work in the world. On a philosophical level, this female principle ultimately rests in the oneness of the male, but on practical level it is female that is most significant in the world.The book deals in detail about the story of Shiv and Shakti. This book is an answer to various such questions which often haunt His devotees regarding worship of the lingam. After conducting lot of research many anecdotes and myths related to Shiva and Shakti have been collected and presented in the book.

There is no word of wider content in any language than this Sanskrit term meaning 'Power'. For Shakti in the highest causal sense is God as Mother, and in another sense it is the universe which issues from Her Womb. And what is there which is neither one nor the other? Therefore, the Yoginihridaya Tantra thus salutes Her who conceives, bears, produces and thereafter nourishes all worlds: "Obeisance be to Her who is pure Being-Consciousness-Bliss, as Power, who exists in the form of Time and Space and all that is therein, and who is the radiant Illuminatrix in all beings." It is therefore possible only to outline here in a very general way a few of the more important principles of the Shakti-doctrine, omitting its deeply interesting practice (Sadhana) in its forms as ritual worship and Yoga. Today Western science speaks of Energy as the physical ultimate of all forms of Matter. So has it been for ages to the Shaktas, as the worshippers of Shakti are called. But they add that such Energy is only a limited manifestation (as Mind and Matter) of the almighty infinite Supreme Power (Maha-Shakti) of Becoming in 'That' (Tat), which is unitary Being (Sat) itself.

Not only Shakti is responsible for creation, it is also the agent of all changes. Shakti is cosmic existence as well as liberation, its most significant form being the Kundalini Shakti, a mysterious psycho-spiritual force. Shakti exists in a state of svaatantreeya, dependence on no one, being interdependent with the entire universe. In Puraanas, for story sake, Shakti is denoted as consort of Shiva and again she is mentioned as sister of Vishnu. But, in the Shankaranaaraayana form the left part of Shiva is Naraayana. Again in the form of Ardhanaareeshvara the left part of Shiva is Shakti. That means Shakti and Vishnu are one and the same. Hence in the Shiva-Shakti united form Vishnu also joining them, there is only one form. The difference in forms are all human created for convenience. All are one.
