Second chance love has never been so alluring ... or dangerous. When Sofia returns to the small town of Sant'Agosto in Central Italy to take care of her sick aunt, she doesn't expect to find Antonio, her childhood sweetheart, there. He's back from Rome, has turned into the sexiest man alive - and he carries a gun. That's because, as Vice-Commander of a special operations group, he fights the Mafia on a daily basis. Can Antonio be trusted with Sofia's heart? Or will he disappoint her as he did when they were teens? For Antonio, the situation is even more fraught: should he push Sofia away to protect her from his dangerous world, or let her love him although it could cost her life? PRAISE 'A sweet, second chance story taking place set against a backdrop of Italy so colorfully described that it felt like I was there in person. In conclusion, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!' When you’re this smokin’, winning is a shore thing. . . . Jersey’s sexiest guidettes are back for another scandalous summer at the Shore, and this time, Giovanna “Gia” Spumanti and Isabella “Bella” Rizzoli are raising the stakes to find thrills and hot gorillas—unemployment, douchebag exes, family drama, and dingy apartment be damned! But when the girls unknowingly cross an overprotective mafiosa mama, all bets are off. Booted from Seaside Heights for good, the spunky, sequined meatball and her sensitive, quiet cousin are forced to flee to Atlantic City. Their escort out of hell is Fredo, a weird and scrawny but hooked-up club manager from a prominent family, whose master plan is to pimp out Gia’s psychic gifts at the roulette tables. Suddenly, it’s raining benjamins for the coiffed and tanned threesome. Top-shelf tequila and seafood dinners are not all they’re scoring. Bella snags a pale but talented boardwalk artist, Gia hooks up with a high-stakes poker hottie, and with Gia’s coaching, Fredo just might have a chance at becoming a certified juicehead. Or, at least, a gorilla-in-training. But when the casino suspects cheating, the trio is hounded by haters and tricksters determined to sabotage their endless summer. With hearts and loot on the line, losing is not a chance the crew can take. This time, the house isn’t going to win. . . .

Federico Fellini written by Tullio Kezich and has been published by Macmillan + ORM this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-03-06 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

A lively and authoritative journey into the world of a cinema master With the revolutionary 8 1/2, Federico Fellini put his deepest desires and anxieties before the lens in 1963, permanently impacting the art of cinema in the process. Now, more than forty years later, film critic and Fellini confidant Tullio Kezich has written the work by which all other biographies of the filmmaker are sure to be measured. In this moving and intimately revealing account of a lifetime spent in pictures, Kezich uses his friendship with Fellini as a means to step outside the frame of myth and anecdote that surrounds him—much, it turns out, of the director's own making. A great lover of women and a meticulous observer of dreams, Fellini, perhaps more than any other director of the twentieth century, created films that embodied a thoroughly modern sensibility, eschewing traditional narrative along with religious and moral precepts. His is an art of delicate pathos, of episodic films that directly address the intersection of reality, fantasy, and desire that exists as a product of mid-century Italy—a country reeling from a Fascist regime as it struggled with an outmoded Catholic national identity. As Kezich reveals, the dilemmas Fellini presents in his movies reflect not only his personal battles but those of Italian society. The result is a book that explores both the machinations of cinema and the man who most grandly embraced the full spectrum of its possibilities, leaving his indelible mark on it forever.

Unfinished Business written by Dana Renga and has been published by University of Toronto Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-12-06 with Performing Arts categories.

Unfinished Business is the first book to examine Italian mafia cinema of the past decade. It provides insightful analyses of popular films that sensationalize violence, scapegoat women, or repress the homosexuality of male protagonists. Dana Renga examines these works through the lens of gender and trauma theory to show how the films engage with the process of mourning and healing mafia-related trauma in Italy. Unfinished Business argues that trauma that has yet to be worked through on the national level is displaced onto the characters in the films under consideration. In a mafia context, female characters are sacrificed and non-normative sexual identities are suppressed in order to solidify traditional modes of viewer identification and to assure narrative closure, all so that the image of the nation is left unblemished.
