The main objective of this project is to make the total input current drawn from the three phase ac main as sinusoidal, by compensating reactive power and low order harmonics generated by the three phase non-linear loads. The synchronous d-q-o reference frame algorithm is also been implemented to recognize and extract harmonic distortions. The outcome will be Total Harmonic Distortion free supply mains. such that the input current will be compensated. The filter is used to counter the effects of harmonics on three-phase power distribution systems and thus improve the system power quality. Technologies Used: MATLAB, Micro Controller, KIEL.

The Industrial Electronics Handbook, Second Edition combines traditional and newer, more specialized knowledge that will help industrial electronics engineers develop practical solutions for the design and implementation of high-power applications. Embracing the broad technological scope of the field, this collection explores fundamental areas, including analog and digital circuits, electronics, electromagnetic machines, signal processing, and industrial control and communications systems. It also facilitates the use of intelligent systems—such as neural networks, fuzzy systems, and evolutionary methods—in terms of a hierarchical structure that makes factory control and supervision more efficient by addressing the needs of all production components. Enhancing its value, this fully updated collection presents research and global trends as published in the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics Journal, one of the largest and most respected publications in the field. Power Electronics and Motor Drives facilitates a necessary shift from low-power electronics to the high-power varieties used to control electromechanical systems and other industrial applications. This volume of the handbook: Focuses on special high-power semiconductor devices Describes various electrical machines and motors, their principles of operation, and their limitations Covers power conversion and the high-efficiency devices that perform the necessary switchover between AC and DC Explores very specialized electronic circuits for the efficient control of electric motors Details other applications of power electronics, aside from electric motors—including lighting, renewable energy conversion, and automotive electronics Addresses power electronics used in very-high-power electrical systems to transmit energy Other volumes in the set: Fundamentals of Industrial Electronics Control and Mechatronics Industrial Communication Systems Intelligent Systems

Design and Control of Hybrid Active Power Filters presents an overview of the current quality problems and their compensators. To get a balance between the system cost and performance, hybrid active power filters (HAPFs) are valuable. The book presents the coverage of resonance phenomena prevention capability, filtering performance and system robustness analysis of HAPF; nonlinear inverter current slope characteristics and their linear operation region requirement analysis of the hysteresis PWM for the HAPF; minimum inverter capacity design procedure of HAPF, adaptive dc-link voltage controller for the HAPF and the real design example of a 220V 10kVA HAPF, in which the system performance analysis method, minimum dc voltage deduction concept and adaptive dc voltage idea can be further extended into the other active compensators, such as APF, static synchronous compensator STATCOM, etc. This book will benefit researchers, graduate students, and electrical power engineers in the field of power-quality compensation. Dr. Chi-Seng Lam and Dr. Man-Chung Wong are both from the University of Macau, Macao, China.

A Comprehensive Analysis Of Proportional Integral Compensated Shunt Active Power Filters written by and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004 with categories.

This thesis deals primarily with the simulation and analysis of shunt active power filters (APF) on a three-phase power distribution system possessing a harmonic generating load. The shunt active power filters are analyzed based on effective total harmonic distortion (THD) levels and response to changing dynamics. These results are derived from the simulation of a pulse-width modulation (PWM) controlled voltage source inverter (VSI) with a capacitor connected to the DC side of the VSI. The primary difference between individual simulations is the particular control law implemented in the shunt APF.
