Este libro desarrolla los contenidos del módulo profesional de Elementos de Sistemas de Telecomunicaciones, del Ciclo Formativo de grado superior de Sistemas de Telecomunicaciones e Informáticos de la familia profesional de Electricidad y Electrónica. En la obra se desarrollan los siguientes contenidos: --- Se explican los principales participantes en el proceso de comunicación. --- Se describe el interior de los dispositivos que permiten transmitir y recibir señales, y la función dentro de un transmisor o receptor de cada uno de ellos, así como sus propiedades y características. --- Se detallan el espacio radioeléctrico (cómo se organiza y utiliza, y los mecanismos para transmitir señales de radiofrecuencia) y las antenas, que son la interfaz entre los transmisores y receptores y el espacio por el que se propagan las señales de radiofrecuencia. --- Se abordan los medios guiados, es decir, el cable eléctrico (par trenzado, coaxial, etc.) y la fibra óptica, y se termina con una breve descripción de los principales equipos de medida y análisis utilizados en el sector. --- Se detallan las señales de audio y de vídeo, las tecnologías de procesado y comunicación, y el análisis de calidad. La obra resultará de gran utilidad para lectores aficionados e interesados en la temática y para el alumnado de titulaciones universitarias en las que se traten los principios de las comunicaciones, tales como grados relacionados con las telecomunicaciones, la informática o determinadas especialidades de ramas industriales, entre otros.
