Hans von Holt wurde im Jahr 1946 im weitgehend ausgebombten Hamburg geboren. Sein Spielplatz waren die Trümmer, die eine frühe Prägung hinterlassen haben. Er studierte Musik in Hamburg, Amsterdam und Salzburg. Er kam 1972 ein erstes Mal in die Schweiz. Hier entstand aus der Leidenschaft zur Fotografie ein zweiter Beruf. Audiovisuelle Tätigkeiten führten ihn in die Welt von Film und Fernsehen. Berufsbegleitend ergänzte er seine Ausbildung zum Tonmeister. Als Filmtonmeister arbeitete er während fünfundzwanzig Jahren in Zürich und Köln. Nebenbei engagierte er sich im Musiktheater der »Mixt-Media«, Basel mit vielen Auftritten in Deutschland, der Schweiz, Italien und Griechenland. Mit dem Schreiben begann er in den neunziger Jahren. Es begann mit der Erzählung »Nonnas Tafelrunde«, gefolgt von dem Roman »Die Wolken von Esopotamien«, 2007 folgte der Sammelband von Kurzgeschichten »Geschichten der Welt«. 2010 folgte das Theaterstück »Sisyphos oder das Ende der Ewigkeit«, ein Beitrag zum »Stuttgarter Autorenpreis 2010«, ein Theater um den Menschen, 2019 "Mein Name sei Sisyphos", 2022 "inject"
