She's a pirate. He's the son of a Lord. An adventure aboard a skyship. In a world powered by steam technology, pirates roam the skies on skyships. Snow is far from a fairy tale princess; she was a street girl, rescued and raised by a small but fearless pirate crew. Blake is a young nobleman whose resentful older brother is forcing him to marry a woman twice his age but all he wants is to continue his education. Their worlds collide when she raids a ship with him on board. Blake ends up stuck on the Onyx Falcon, Snow's Pirate ship-the total opposite of the world he used to live in. While Snow is hunted by the shadows of her past, Blake's presence brings in challenges and adventures that they have to beat hand in hand. To overcome their fears and differences, a choice must be made. Will they choose to merge their paths or will they forever be apart? Meet Snow and Blake in this adventure full of interesting characters and an adorable romance. It's a loose retelling with a few steampunk elements.

Dear FriendIt is said that everyone has one good book in them, but just what is it that drives someone to sit in isolation for hours-on-end and write one?Well, in my case it was the wonder in words. What do I mean by the wonder in words? Well, it's the belief of the author that their words will have an impact on the reader. They are so passionate about their message that nothing will stand in their way or lessen their desire to share it. They simply have to find a way and I'm now extremely proud to say that I am one of those people. After the horrendous year we all have experienced, I felt a desire to share a little bit of hope for 2021.At the ripe old age of 61 it feels like I've been writing this book all my life, but I'm happy to say that it's finished at last. Many people have enriched my time on this amazing planet and there's a little bit of them all in my story. I took the inspiration from a few life experiences and added my own messages, some of which will be obvious, others maybe not. I also wanted the opportunity to give a little bit back, so the profits from the sale of the book will be donated to the charity M.I.N.D.You can also donate to my Just Giving page in memory of Jason Allaway.Love & Best Wishes David.'My humble opinion is that life is about having dreams and then finding ways to make them come true. This book is one of mine.'So what is the book about?Eddie Cooper is a dreamer with a mission. Driven by despair, he sets out on a snowy adventure to find the one person he believes can bring his family back together. This wonderful, heart-warming tale set in the middle of winter, takes you on a rollercoaster ride full of unexpected moments. The small seaside town's festive celebrations need to be suspended as the heaviest snowfall on record takes a grip on its folk.Who is the mysterious character dressed like the High Plains Drifter that walks the isolated coastal paths?Meet the talented author who's trapped in a world of books and stories and discover their special gift.Find out how the wonder in words changes a life...

Drawing on new research, this fascinating volume looks behind the myths to offer detailed insights into the real lives and activities of pirates—for better or worse—during the golden age of piracy in the Caribbean, from the mid-17th century to 1720. Over the past decade, research in Spanish, French, and Dutch archives, as well as in traditional English repositories, has resulted in a clearer picture of the activities and lives of the pirates who roamed the seas during the "Golden Age of Piracy" from 1650 to 1720. That is the picture shared in Daily Life of Pirates. The book describes how pirates actually lived, touching on their food and drink, their hideouts, and their humor. It also examines their ships, weapons and seamanship, their plunder—and their use of torture. The book's detailed coverage is made possible by newly uncovered interrogations of pirates and by official depositions given by their victims, both of which provide insights that go well beyond simple recountings of famous exploits. The result is a tantalizing, true picture of pirates' daily lives that reveals many surprising facts, such as the reality that most of their time was spent upon land as actual piracy was a seasonal occupation.

This unique collection has been designed and formatted to the highest digital standards. The edition incorporates an active table of contents, interactive footnotes and all other information relevant to the content which makes the reading experience meticulously organized and enjoyable. A General History of the Pirates contains biographies of early 18th century pirates, which was influential in shaping popular conceptions of pirates. It is the prime source for the biographies of many well-known pirates and the author sticks close to the available sources. The History of the Pirates is a sequel to A General History of the Pyrates and it is considered one of Defoe's most remarkable neglected works. In this volume Defoe records the exploits of pirates who lived a few decades earlier. The book has been hugely influential in shaping popular notions of piracy. The King of Pirates is supposed to be an account of the pirate Henry Avery, known by contemporaries as "The Arch Pirate" and "The King of Pirates", and widely believed stories of Avery's pirate republic. Avery's account is presented in two long letters written by himself, one in Madagascar, and the other during the escape. The Pirate Gow is an account of John Gow, a notorious pirate whose short career was immortalized by Defoe. Gow had a successful career as a pirate around the Iberian Peninsula, but he was captured and hanged in London. Gow also served as the model for Captain Cleveland in Sir Walter Scott's novel The Pirate. Daniel Defoe (1660-1731), was an English writer, journalist, and spy, most famous for his novel Robinson Crusoe. Defoe is noted for being one of the earliest proponents of the novel, and he is considered one of the founders of the English novel.
