Este libro presenta los textos de una de las investigaciones fenomenológicas más originales que se han desarrollado en nuestra lengua: la investigación del colorido o la estampa de la vida, iniciada hace más de dos décadas por Antonio Zirión Quijano. A pesar del tiempo transcurrido, su autor presenta todavía hoy estos textos más como la introducción a una obra por venir —acerca de la fenomenología de la vida en concreción— que como la compilación de unos resultados definitivos. La voluntad de atrapar el elusivo fenómeno del colorido de la vida se vio obligada a cambiar el rumbo a medio camino, pero ha podido alcanzar, en una peculiar fenomenología del lenguaje, la constatación de su inefabilidad. Textos dedicados a otros temas no del todo laterales —el lenguaje de la fenomenología, la práctica del enfocamiento (focusing), la fenomenología de la afectividad, la propuesta de una pausa generadora de confianza— acompañan a los escritos principales. Un nuevo ensayo final expone las respuestas de su autor a los comentarios y a las críticas que han recibido sus tesis, así como sus últimas ideas y posiciones sobre esta temática. Si bien en los escritos de Edmund Husserl no se encuentra identificado este peculiar fenómeno de la estampa de la vida, las investigaciones de este libro se confiesan deudoras de su método de trabajo y pretenden estar en consonancia completa con su fenomenología.
