L'OBJET DE LA THESE EST UNE ETUDE SUR LES MANIERES DE VIVRE ET LES MECANISMES DE SOLIDARITE DE POPULATIONS QUI VIVENT LA PRECARITE ET LA SURVIE AU QUOTIDIEN. NOUS PROPOSONS UNE ANALYSE A PARTIR DE PLUSIEURS ENQUETES MENEES A PARIS AUPRES DE POPULATIONS ERRANTES DE LA RUE (LES ZONARDS ET LES SDF) ET DE POPULATIONS SEDENTAIRES REPRESENTATIVES DE LA PAUVRETE ORDINAIRE DANS LES QUARTIERS POPULAIRES EN BANLIEUE PARISIENNE. CES DIVERSES POPULATIONS SE DISPERSENT EN STRATES QUI EVOLUENT ENTRE LE “MOINS” ET LE “SANS” DU POINT DE VUE DE L'AUTONOMIE ECONOMIQUE, ET CONSTITUENT UN CONTINUUM DANS LA PAUVRETE. L'ETUDE EST UNE INTERROGATION SUR L'EXCLUSION ALORS QUE LES POPULATIONS DES “SANS”, DES “INUTILES” AU SYSTEME DE LA PRODUCTION MONTRENT DES MODES D'EXISTER PRAGMATIQUES AFIN D'EXISTER SOCIALEMENT EN DEPLOYANT DES STRATEGIES DYNAMIQUES DANS LA SURVIE, POUR VIVRE DANS LA RUE OU POUR EVITER LA RUPTURE. ANALYSES DU POINT DE VUE DES ACTEURS, LES MODES DE VIE QUI SONT DECRITS ET RESTITUES SONT AUTANT DE FORMES DE RESISTANCE QUE LES PLUS FAIBLES, LES DOMINES, OPPOSENT AUX DOMINANTS. L'ENSEMBLE DE CE TRAVAIL SE SITUE DU COTE DE LA SOCIOLOGIE EMPIRIQUE, GENERATRICE D'INTERROGATIONS THEORIQUES SUR LES FROMES DE L'INUTILITE SOCIALE, EN INTRODUISANT UNE REFLEXION SUR LA SOCIETE MODERNE POSTINDUSTRIELLE.

Henri Lefebvre And The Theory Of The Production Of Space written by Christian Schmid and has been published by Verso Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-11-29 with Social Science categories.

Henri Lefebvre’s was the major theorist of space and of the urban. This is the definitive book on Lefebvre. This book presents an encompassing, detailed and thorough overview and reconstruction of Lefebvre’s theory of space and of the urban. Henri Lefebvre belongs to the generation of the great French intellectuals and philosophers, together with his contemporaries Michel Foucault and Jean-Paul Sartre. His theory has experienced a remarkable revival over the last two decades, and is discussed and applied today in many disciplines in humanities and social sciences, particularly in urban studies, geography, urban sociology, urban anthropology, architecture and planning. Lefebvre, together with David Harvey, is one of the leading and most read theoreticians in these fields. This book explains in an accessible way the theoretical and epistemological context of this work in French philosophy and in the German dialectic (Hegel, Marx, and Nietzsche), and reconstructs in detail the historical development of its different elements. It also gives an overview on the receptions of Lefebvre and discusses a wide range of applications of this theory in many research fields, such as urban and regional development, urbanization, urbanity, social space, and everyday life.

This publication is a continuation of two earlier series of chroni cles, Philosophy in the Mid-Century (Firenze 1958/59) and Con temporary Philosophy (Firenze 1968), edited by Raymond Kli bansky. Like the other series, these chronicles provide a survey of important trends in contemporary philosophical discussion from 1966 to 1978. The need for such surveys has, I believe, increased rather than decreased over the last years. The philosophical scene appears, for various reasons, more complex than ever before. The continuing process of specialization in most branches, the emergence of new schools of thought, particularly in philosophical logic and the philosophy of language, the convergence of interest (though not necessarily of opinion) of different traditions upon certain prob lems, and the increasing attention being paid to the history of philosophy in discussions of contemporary problems are the most important contributory factors. Surveys of the present kind are a valuable source of knowledge of this complexity and may as such be an assistance in renewing the understanding of one's own philosophical problems. The surveys, it is to be hoped, may also help to strengthen the Socratic element of modern philosophy, the dialogue or Kommunikationsgemeinschajt. So far, four volumes have been prepared for the new series. The present chronicles in Philosophy of Action (Vol. 3) follow upon chronicles in the Philosophy of Language and Philosophical Logic (V 01. 1) and chronicles in the Philosophy of Science (Vol.

Henri Lefebvre has been celebrated as one of the most influential social theorists of the twentieth century. Understanding Henri Lefebvre places Lefebvre in his historical and intellectual context and analyzes the extraordinary range of his work, across politics, philosophy, history, literature and culture. Particular emphasis is given to Lefebvre's trilogy of inspirational thinkers—Hegel, Marx and Nietzsche; his links to contemporaries such as Heidegger, Axelos and the Situationalists; and his critiques of existentialism and structuralism. Analysis of his writings on cities are balanced with those on rural communities, the production of space connected to ideas of time and history, and everyday life linked to the festival and cultural revolution. Understanding Henri Lefebvre offers the most wide-ranging and reliable account of this central theorist available.

In Staying Alive While Living the Life, Sue-Ann MacDonald and Benjamin Roebuck unpack the realities of living on the streets from the perspective of homeless youth. While much is written about at-risk youth, most literature on youth homelessness reduces their lives to flattened images with little room for the diverse, complex and individual nature of their experiences. Challenging the dominant youth-at-risk conversation by putting forward a framework of survival and resilience, MacDonald and Roebuck illustrate the ways that young people who experience homelessness demonstrate tremendous resilience when facing adversity, social exclusion and various forms of oppression. Drawing on conversations with homeless youth, this book focuses both on the external constraints imposed on their lives as well as the ways young people understand their circumstances and their approaches to problem solving. The result is a nuanced analysis that puts human agency at its centre, allowing readers to explore the challenges young people face and the internal and external resources they draw upon when making decisions about their lives.
