Colbuco. Un misterioso pueblo ubicado al sur de Chile, ha logrado permanecer oculto entre las montañas por más de diez años. Sin embargo al igual que el resto del país, sufre el embate de un terremoto que asoló la noche del 27 de febrero del 2010. Motivados por un fuerte sentimiento de solidaridad, una nación entera se moviliza para prestar ayuda a los damnificados. Bajo ese contexto, un grupo de 40 jóvenes que apenas se conocen entre sí, son reclutados por una enigmática organización para realizar un voluntariado de cinco días en aquel pueblo. Sin embargo al llegar allí, notan el carácter frío y arisco de sus habitantes, lejos de la normal calidez y hospitalidad que caracteriza al campesino chileno. Desconocen la Influencia Maligna que mantiene a sus habitantes aletargados en latentes deseos de violencia y que con el correr de los días, va contagiando a los mismos jóvenes quienes confusos, ven como poco a poco sus mentes se van corrompiendo, extrayendo lo peor de sí mismos mientras sus miedos parecen volverse realidad. Las cosas se van complicando, los hechos se vuelven cada vez más caóticos, nadie entiende qué es lo que sucede y lo que empieza como una noble labor de ayuda desinteresada, va revelando en realidad lo peor de la naturaleza del ser humano. Y es así, como una escalada de circunstancias tenebrosas terminará envolviendo a estos jóvenes en una desesperada situación de violencia, en que los sentimientos oscuros de cada cual van tornándose paulatinamente, en deseos de sangre. Sean ustedes bienvenidos a Colbuco, lugar donde existe Sonara.
