PEQUENAS CONSIDERAÇÕES SOBRE O SONETO Soneto (originariamente o vocábulo significava pequeno som) poesia de forma fixa, ou seja, utiliza métrica (medida de versos) e esquema de rimas (ritmo). É composto por 14 (catorze) versos, distribuídos em 02 (dois) quartetos e 02 (dois) tercetos (soneto italiano), geralmente utiliza versos decassílabos (dez sílabas poéticas) ou alexandrinos (doze sílabas poéticas). Também pode ser formado por 03 (três) quartetos e 01 (um) dístico (dois versos) - soneto inglês. Esquema mais frequente de rimas: (soneto italiano). No Modernismo Brasileiro (1922 - Atualidade) foi muito cultivado o soneto branco, isto é, catorze versos sem rimas, porém, com métrica (versos decassílabos ou alexandrinos). Principais cultores no Brasil: Gregório de Matos Guerra (barroco), Cláudio Manuel da Costa (arcadismo), Castro Alves (romantismo); Olavo Bilac, Raimundo Correia, Alberto de Oliveira (parnasianismo); Guilherme de Almeida, Vinícius de Moraes, Mário de Andrade (modernismo), entre outros.
