Creighton Northgate is a man shrouded in mystery and on the run from a past he doesn't even fully understand. Blurring the lines between vagabond, enigma, drunkard, and savior, he spends his days staring into the southern legends and paranormal events that most only speak of in hushed, half-believing whispers. This book compiles the first three installments of the Southern Hauntings Saga: The Vagrant, The Girl, and The Lurker. Also included is a brand new, bonus short story from Crate's early years, The Answer, currently unavailable anywhere else. Praise for the Southern Hauntings Saga- "Bryan Hall delivers the goods: Southern-fried suspense, chills, and thrills." -- Scott Nicholson, author of The Red Church "Bryan Hall is an exciting new author who pens nail-biting tales that captivate from start to finish. The Southern Hauntings Saga is an outstanding collection of novellas. Highly recommended!" -- Benjamin Kane Ethridge, author of BOTTLED ABYSS and DUNGEON BRAIN.

Nancy Roberts has often been described to as the "First Lady of American Folklore" and the title is well deserved. Throughout her decades-long career, Roberts documented supernatural experiences and interviewed hundreds of people about their recollections of encounters with the supernatural. This nationally renowned writer began her undertaking in this ghostly realm as a freelance writer for the Charlotte Observer. Encouraged by Carl Sandburg, who enjoyed her stories and articles, Roberts wrote her first book in 1958. Aptly called a "custodian of the twilight zone" by Southern Living magazine, Roberts based her suspenseful stories on interviews and her rich knowledge of American folklore. Her stories were always rooted in history, which earned her a certificate of commendation from the American Association of State and Local History for her books on the Carolinas and Appalachia.

The Ghost Will See You Now written by Randy Russell and has been published by Blair this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014 with Haunted hospitals categories.

"Ghosts are not fiction," Randy Russell said in a recent interview. "Anyone who has spent a night outdoors in the South knows that." After years of interviewing people who have encountered ghosts and writing four books of Southern ghost stories, Russell now focuses his attention on some of the most common sites of hauntings across the South hospitals. From ghosts of patients at long-closed and abandoned facilities to those who inhabit contemporary medical centers, from soldiers who died at makeshift battlefield hospitals to lobotomized inmates in insane asylums, expiring spirits refuse to pass to the other side in peace. Assisting those in pain is a life's calling for many nurses, doctors, and hospital staff, more than a few of whom also continue to occupy the location of their life's work. Organized as a state-by-state guide to known Southern hospital hauntings, "The Ghost Will See You Now" includes 40-plus ghost stories and lists of sightings at more than 160 haunted locations. In addition to the numerous hospital sightings, ghosts also haunt medical-care facilities as diverse as TB sanitariums, spas, dental clinics, treatment centers at historic forts, nursing homes, hospice centers, ambulances, hospital train cars, and an early-19th-century pharmacy in New Orleans.

Haunted Too written by Dorah L. Williams and has been published by Dundurn this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-08-25 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.

After sharing her own story in Haunted, Dorah L. Williams compiles first-hand accounts of the spiritual encounters of others. Upon writing Haunted: The Incredible True Story of a Canadian Family’s Experience Living in a Haunted House, Dorah thought her situation was unique. What she didn’t realize was how many others would relate to how it feels to be haunted, too. After being flooded by emails from people with similar experiences, Dorah began to realize this wasn’t uncommon at all. It seemed these paranormal happenings were universal — in all areas, within all age groups, and among all walks of life. So, Haunted Too came to be. Not only will it entertain the reader, as good ghost stories always have, but it will also help the reader to better understand this phenomenon, with the inclusion of shared experiences, opinions, and advice of professionals in this field. Whether fear-provoking or poignant, these collective supernatural encounters are directly quoted in their own words by those who have experienced them first-hand, and are enlightening as well as entertaining.

New York's Southern Tier and its many communities abound with legends about strange, intriguing events. Stories of ghosts and other supernatural phenomena create an aura of foreboding and mystery in upstate New York. Tortured souls try to escape from the Inebriate Asylum in Binghamton; Native American treasure lies buried beneath the banks of the Susquehanna River; grandeur and heartbreak haunt Wellsville's Pink House; and locals speculate about the identity of a young woman in white who walks "Devil's Bend" in Owego. Local learning institutions are also fraught with otherworldly beings--Elmira College, SUNY Fredonia and Binghamton University students all have long told stories about the paranormal. Folklorist Elizabeth Tucker tells these and other eerie legends of haunted homes, mansions, churches, parks and cemeteries of the Southern Tier.
