Inhaltsangabe:Gang der Untersuchung: Diese Diplomarbeit behandelt das weite Thema des sozialen Netzwerkes und der sozialen Unterstützung im Altenheim. Zunächst wird in dem theoretischen Teil eine Literaturrecherche durchgeführt, wobei vor allem Definitionen und Begriffe aus dem Netzwerkkonzept vorgestellt und erklärt werden. Im empirischen Teil werden statistische Daten aus Befragungen von acht Altenheimen einer hessischen Kreisstadt präsentiert und analysiert. Diese Daten werden in der Diskussion mit Ergebnissen anderer Studien verglichen. Das Netzwerk der Altenheimbewohner wird auf die Unterstützungsressourcen der Altenheimbewohner untersucht und es wird im besonderen auf die Rolle der professionellen Helfer eingegangen. Am Beispiel der Selbstpflegetheorie von Dorothea E. Orem wird aufgezeigt, wie eine philosophische Pflegetheorie als konzeptioneller Rahmen die Pflegebeziehung zum Abhängigen professionell unterstützt. Außerdem werden Konsequenzen für zukünftige Wohnformen im Alter angesprochen und künftige Diplom-PflegewirtInnen werden als Netzwerkmanager identifiziert.
