Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Soziale Arbeit / Sozialarbeit, Note: 1,3, Hochschule Niederrhein in Mönchengladbach (Sozialwesen), Veranstaltung: Berufsbegleitender Studiengang Sozialmanagement, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Das Thema dieser Hausarbeit lautet: „Sozialmanagement – Verschlechterung oder Veredlung Sozialer Arbeit?“ Aus persönlicher Sicht ist diese Fragestellung für mich ganz entscheidend, da mein Studium der Sozialpädagogik in den 1980er Jahren angesiedelt war und hier Studieninhalte wie z.B. Managementkompetenzen, Organisationsentwicklung oder ökonomische Grundlagen Sozialer Arbeit, schlicht und einfach nicht vorkamen. Diese wurden bei der Erarbeitung sozialpädagogischer Konzepte vielfach als störend und hinderlich gesehen. „Zunehmend schwieriger wird (...) eine sinnvolle Auseinandersetzung über sozialpädagogische Konzepte, wenn diese mit Effektivitätskriterien ökonomischer Herkunft gemessen werden“ (Geißler/Hege 1981:20). Im Zentrum sozialpädagogischer/sozialarbeiterischer Handlungen stand der Mensch und die Verbesserung seiner Lebenssituation. Ausgeblendet hiervon waren überwiegend interne (einrichtungsbezogene) und externe (gesellschaftliche) Rahmenbedingungen. Im Nachfolgenden wird zunächst auf die Begrifflichkeit und die Inhalte von Sozialmanagement eingegangen. Anschließend erfolgt im Hauptteil ein Rückblick über die Entstehung des Sozialmanagements innerhalb der Sozialen Arbeit. Hierbei soll deutlich gemacht werden, dass es sich nicht um eine Mode-Erscheinung handelt, sondern um eine Entwicklung innerhalb der Sozialen Arbeit, die mit den sich ändernden Rahmenbedingungen in unserer Gesellschaft eng verknüpft ist und eine weitergehende Professionalisierung erforderlich macht. Ergänzt wird die Ausführung durch einen Vergleich von Ansätzen des Sozialmanagements und ihre Übertragung auf die Praxis sowie die Skizzierung eines Managementkonzeptes. Im Schlussteil erfolgt eine Einschätzung über die Möglichkeiten, die Sozialmanagement in der Sozialen Arbeit bietet.
