In this entrancing collection, author Jeff Brown shares more of his profound quotes and musings with us. Words written on walls- in his home, in back-alleys, on Facebook- come vibrantly to life in this poignant offering. Building on the popularity of his first two quotes books- Love it Forward and Ascending with Both Feet on the Ground- Brown takes it to the next level in this collection, cutting straight to the heart of the matter with wisdoms that both energize and uplift. This book is alive! In a style uniquely his own, Brown invites readers in the direction of their own transformation. They are invited, and they are supported as they endeavor to find meaning on their life's journey. Spiritual Graffiti is a lighthouse of possibility, one that both celebrates our perfectly imperfect humanness and reminds us that there is hope at every turn. As an added bonus, Jeff has included more of the inspirations he wrote for ABC'S 'Good Morning America', and his popular healing blog 'Apologies to the Battered Child'. This book is a beautiful gift for anyone who is seeking a deeper and more authentic life.

La Graffiti Black Book written by David Brafman and has been published by Getty Publications this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-04-13 with Art categories.

This collection of unique works by 150 Los Angeles graffiti and tattoo artists represents an unprecedented collaboration across the city’s diverse artistic landscape. Many graffiti artists carry sketchbooks, called black books, and they ask crew members and others whose work they admire to inscribe their books with lettering or drawings. A few years ago, the Getty Research Institute invited artists, including Angst, Axis, Big Sleeps, Chaz, Cre8, Defer, EyeOne, Fishe, Heaven, Hyde, Look, ManOne, and Prime, to consider the idea of a citywide graffiti black book. During visits to the Getty Center, the artists viewed rare books related to calligraphy and letterforms, including works by Albrecht Dürer and Leonardo da Vinci. The artists instantly recognized the connections to their own practices and were particularly drawn to a liber amicorum (book of friends), a form of autograph book popular in the seventeenth century. Passed from hand to hand, it was filled with signatures, poetry, and coats of arms, like a black book from another era. Inspired by this meeting of minds across centuries, these artists became both creators and curators, crafting their own pages and inviting others to contribute. Eventually 150 Los Angeles artists decorated 143 individual pages. These were bound together into an exquisite artists’ book that became known as the Getty Graffiti Black Book. This publication reproduces each page from the original artists’ book and recounts the story of an unprecedented collaboration across the diverse artistic landscape of Los Angeles.

Soulshaping written by Jeff Brown and has been published by North Atlantic Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-06-15 with Self-Help categories.

Soulshaping is the inspiring memoir of an archetypal "male warrior"–a trial lawyer–who struggled to find his heart and a more authentic, soulful path. Rivetingly personal and profoundly universal, this book is for anyone who has heard a whisper of something truer calling out to them amid the distractions of modern life. Jeff Brown’s dramatic and often funny story takes readers through remarkably human experiences–emotional, physical, and economic–as he vividly recounts his troubled childhood, his success in apprenticing with Canada’s top criminal lawyer, and his ultimate decision to leave the law and begin an inner journey to discover his soul’s purpose. A work of courageous self-creation, Soulshaping reminds us that we are all truly connected, that our seemingly isolated struggles are actually part of the shared human challenge to live a life that is heart-centered and soul-driven. Both down-to-earth and magically mystical, Soulshaping will meet you where you live–and where you long to live.

Soul Graffiti written by Mark Scandrette and has been published by Jossey-Bass this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008-05-27 with Religion categories.

In Soul Graffiti Mark Scandrette—writer, poet, and leader in the Emergent church movement—uses vivid stories of his own life and the lives of the many people he has encountered in his home in the Mission District of San Francisco to explore what "good news of God" might mean for our particular time and place. He seeks to answer the central question: "How can we be about making a life in the way of Jesus?" Soul Graffiti is a simple and lyrical exploration of the essential message of Jesus as it relates to the experiences of contemporary spiritual seekers. He integrates theological insight with awareness of human psychology, culture, and daily life. Written to appeal to the sensibilities of those who inhabit a post-Christendom milieu, Mark Scandrette's deepest hope is to give readers greater motivation for, and a fuller sense of what it means to make a life in, the way of Jesus.

Flip It Like This written by David Hayward and has been published by Broadleaf Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-07-19 with Humor categories.

From the cartoonist who points his pen straight at today's pressing issues of inclusion, faith, spiritual abuse, and justice comes Flip It Like This! Aggravated women disciples, Jesus hugging rainbow sheep, a man praying "WTF?": the cartoons of David Hayward, the artist behind @NakedPastor, are graffiti on the walls of the contemporary church. He sketches the ridiculous, the appalling, and the damaging aspects of the church as we know it--as well as Jesus erasing lines, embracing the excluded, and standing outside the church's walls. In this collection, which includes Hayward's most beloved comics as well as never-before-seen cartoons, we find more of the whimsy, impertinence, and tenderness that we didn't even know we needed. These cartoons are for those who have been battered or infuriated by the church and who long to see it change. Upending notions of who's in and who's out, Hayward's comic vision overturns false pieties and harmful dogmas in one fell swoop.
