Arnold Krowneski is taken under the wing of his high school art teacher, Mrs. M. She sees great potential in his ability, so she introduces him to another friend, who owns an art gallery of great renown, one Mr. George Zukor, who in turn introduces the boy to the world of art. George promotes him, in an attempt to make his name synonymous with Dali and Picasso. Arnie's work was equal to these two giants of the art world, but his style was quite different. His work never had to be explained. You knew what it was the moment you saw it. The color, the subject, the story it told was like magic and you could get lost in a dream, just looking at them. He used a number of models for realism. He would pose them on a couch or a chair, but frequently ended up in bed with them. Some thing about him seemed to intrigue the ladies. So come along on his ride toward the top, to fame and riches. See the beauty in many of the things he saw on the way, and meet the people who would alter his, day- to-day existence, on his skyrocket to get there.

From a spiritual standpoint, in order to circumvent, that is to outwit, the ensnarement of the spirit of depression and suicide, we as God's children must have the spirit of a chess champion. Our Lord expresses it alittle differently, but I believe it is the same concept: Matthew 10:16 "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."How could I not only have suicidal thoughts, but actually attempt to kill myself several times? How could I be filled with so much gloom that I neglected myself hygienically, and did not change my undergarments nor comb my hair for weeks? How could it be that "Rev," who had been ordained several times and even preached on the WORD Network once, be unconscious from overdosing on sleeping pills? What was I doing in the psychiatric ward after being handcuffed and restrained because I attempted to run away from the hospital before being processed to enter the psychiatric ward?I after several additional attempts to commit suicide, decided that I would make the culprit of the cesspool of misery that I was in, pay for all of the damage, the brokenness and agony, and the wasted time.I decided to learn how to play chess and win! This book, Outwitting the Spirit of Depression and Suicide is a guide to inform you, equip you, and challenge you to play chess too by providing you with spiritual insight, strategies, and encouragement to outwit the Spirit of Depression and Suicide.

International Perspectives In Values Based Mental Health Practice written by Drozdstoy Stoyanov and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-12-11 with Medical categories.

This open access book offers essential information on values-based practice (VBP): the clinical skills involved, teamwork and person-centered care, links between values and evidence, and the importance of partnerships in shared decision-making. Different cultures have different values; for example, partnership in decision-making looks very different, from the highly individualized perspective of European and North American cultures to the collective and family-oriented perspectives common in South East Asia. In turn, African cultures offer yet another perspective, one that falls between these two extremes (called batho pele). The book will benefit everyone concerned with the practical challenges of delivering mental health services. Accordingly, all contributions are developed on the basis of case vignettes, and cover a range of situations in which values underlie tensions or uncertainties regarding how to proceed in clinical practice. Examples include the patient’s autonomy and best interest, the physician’s commitment to establishing high standards of clinical governance, clinical versus community best interest, institutional versus clinical interests, patients insisting on medically unsound but legal treatments etc. Thus far, VBP publications have mainly dealt with clinical scenarios involving individual values (of clinicians and patients). Our objective with this book is to develop a model of VBP that is culturally much broader in scope. As such, it offers a vital resource for mental health stakeholders in an increasingly inter-connected world. It also offers opportunities for cross-learning in values-based practice between cultures with very different clinical care traditions.

Spiritual Depression is one of the great classics of the modern Church and tackles the big question: If Christianity is such "good news" why are its followers often unhappy? Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones was possibly the greatest Christian preacher and teacher of the twentieth century. A medical doctor by training, Spiritual Depression draws together his professional understanding of the mind with a profound understanding of Christian teaching and the Bible. Spiritual Depression diagnoses the causes of the ill feeling that many Christians experience. It prescribes the practical care that is needed to lift people's spirits and bring them freedom, power and joy. Spiritual health is possible and this book explains how everyone can grasp it for themselves.
