Astrological Geomancy was once the mainstay of the Western Mystery Tradition as a form of divination only matched by Astrology. For centuries, court magicians used Geomancy to advise the crowned heads of Europe on matters related to war, marriages, foreign and economic policy. Most of the top magicians of the Renaissance and Cunning people used Geomancy as a quicker and more easy-to-use form of divination. Sadly, Geomancy, along with Astrology, fell from widespread use in the 19th century. While Astrology was restored to prominence and modernised in the 20th century, its Geomancy council remained an esoteric curiosity. Even within the 20th century, magical groups like the Golden Dawn and Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.) rarely enthusiastically embraced Geomancy. The feeling was that although it was accurate, it was difficult as all its texts felt out-of-date, needlessly pessimistic. Lately, steps have been made to fix this issue and restore Geomancy to its rightful place in the modern magical corpus. In Star and Stone, Nick Farrell presents a step-by-step method of understanding Geomancy using more modern astrological methods and interpretations to lift this powerful oracle from its medieval roots and into the Internet age. The book takes the reader through the basics and into more advanced methods still firmly rooted in traditional Geomancy. It takes the would-be Geomancer from their first simple readings to more advanced understandings, all based on a more positive approach to questions. Farrell writes with a magical edge and interest in practical uses for Geomancy oracles, unlike many books on these matters.

Often dubbed the "crystals bible," this comprehensive reference guide to the spiritual and healing qualities of 455 sacred stones has become the go-to book for looking up the properties of gems and minerals. Each entry includes vivid color photographs for each stone to aid identification and to showcase its beauty, as well as listing its scientific information, its element and chakra correspondences, and the physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits of each stone. Illustrated by gorgeously lit, clear color photos to aid quick identification, the book offers an illuminating alphabetical journey through the mineral kingdom, stone by stone. This new edition of The Book of Stones, the best-selling guide to some of Earth's most beautiful natural objects, is revised to include 76 new entries. The book begins with two introductory chapters detailing advice by authors Naisha Ahsian and Robert Simmons on how to work with crystals and stones--including the concept of crystal resonance and the scientific observation that living organisms (such as ourselves) are liquid crystalline structures. Each entry begins with the stone name and photo, plus its elemental and chakra correspondences, as well as keywords that indicate its properties. Next comes a description of the crystal structure, hardness, history, and known locations of each mineral, plus any relevant legend or lore from the past. Each author then offers their own take and personal insights on the subtle energy properties and spiritual applications of the stone. The entries conclude with summaries of the spiritual, emotional, and physical healing qualities of the stone, and an affirmation for evoking its potential benefits. The book's presentation is straightforward enough to make it an excellent introduction for beginners, yet the level of detail and the depth of research make it an invaluable resource for the most experienced stone practitioners.

“Who needs diamonds when you have the stars?” Brooke’s question was posed to the sparkling sky. It was the final night of her spring break, and the first time she and Rafe had been together after dark. The voice she heard a moment later was Rafe’s, but the language was music. “What did you say, Rafe?” What are you singing to me? “I said what you said, Brooke. ‘Who needs diamonds when you have the stars?’” “But in what language?” “Nahuatl. The language of my ancestors.” Rafe is a descendant of enemies, of vanquished emperor and triumphant conquistador, and inside him the battle rages still. When a monstrous storm destroys everyone and everything Rafe loves, he finds sanctuary in a new land and comfort in the gentle grace of horses. He applies for work at Fox Haven Farm, an equestrian estate in Virginia, and home of 17-year-old Brooke and 15-year-old Lily. The girls were raised as sisters and were once so close, but Lily's mysterious illness has separated them. Only Brooke is at the Farm when Rafe arrives. Lily is at a clinic in Switzerland with Brooke's mother and Lily's father. Rafe and Brooke have nine days together, caring for the horses they love, smiling, talking . . . and touching? No. Rafe is a worldly twenty-two year-old and Brooke is a lovely innocent. And, he believes, they have all the time in the world. But tragedy strikes when Lily returns. Within hours of the tragedy Brooke is gone—without even saying goodbye—to live with her grandmother in California, and fragile, devastated Lily, the sole heir to Fox Haven Farm, is alone, afraid, and needing Rafe's help. Now, Brooke decides to go back to the Farm. She must. Her life is stalled. She has to make sense of the past, make peace with it, before she can truly go forward. This book brilliantly illuminates part of our prehistoric heritage that has for long been shrouded in darkness and mystery. Built over 5000 years ago, the megalithic monuments of Ireland with their spectacular art have baffled scientists for generations. Now, through patient and extensive fieldwork, Mr. Brennan sets that ancient tradition in the astronomical and ritual context for which it was intended. What the author and his colleagues discovered was that most if not all the major Irish mounds are oriented to the rising and setting positions of the sun at critical times of the year-- solstice, cross-quarter day, equinox. Even more remarkably they found that the beams of light projected into the inner chambers at these times illuminate one after another the images carved on the stones, as if spelling out messages in an archaic code. Analysis of the carvings revealed an ancient preoccupation with solar and lunar symbolism, and true sundials and calendar stones are seen to exist here earlier than anywhere else in the world. In his text and own superb two-color drawings Martin Brennan fully documents these discoveries, as well as describing the researches of others and echoes from the distant past to be found in Gaelic literature. All the major Irish engraved compositions are illustrated, providing not only support for the author's theories but also a wonderful treasury of Irish megalithic art. With 300 illustrations in one and two colors.
