Under the act approved February 25, 1895, providing for a two per cent tax on net premiums collected by insurance com panies doing business in this state, I have, during the past two years, collected the\sum of The act provides that these collections should be paid into the common school fund principal. I would most respectfully suggest that the act be so amended as to provide that this tax shall be paid into the general fund, thus making it available to meet the current ex penses of the state government.
