As we get older one of main concerns is how and where we will life. Most seniors, when asked will say that they wish to remain in their own home, but most don't know what they can do to make that happen. This book provides practical insight into the simple changes we all can make that will allow us to remain in our homes along as possible. These changes can as the popular phrase says allow us to "Age In Place." As the youngest of 7, most now gone, I saw how they lived the last years of their lives. Each of them in circumstances which were not of their choosing. I know that their lives could have been very different if they had had the information in this book. As an Aging Boomer myself, I know I want to live what is left of my life how I want and where I want. And that is in my OWN home, not in A Home. I also recognize that as we age our needs, and capabilities change. We address those changes in our book.In some ways, you might say I wrote this book not only to help seniors, people with aging parents but for myself as well. It is intended to guide us through the changes we need to make both in our mindset and our homes to make it possible for us to age in place.Being able to stay in their home has proven to help seniors live longer and happier lives. And surprise according to government reports it benefits not only the individuals but the health care system as well. It is more cost effect to provide homecare than hospital care for those not critically ill. This book can help you prepare yourself and your home to allow you or your loved one to do just that, Stay Home. This book discusses all the different things you can do to make Staying Home safe, mentally and physically. It concludes with a checklist for making sure you have all the bases covered when it come to home safety.

Everyone ages differently, and lifestyle plays a major role, but you'll experience both hard-to-notice and impossible-to-miss changes in your physical and mental health. Read on for the good, the bad, and the what's-up-with-that? transformations you'll encounter in your 70s. I met Rose Bickman through a friend of mine who runs a very successful bed and breakfast place called The Hideaway, in Connecticut. Rose is a 76-year-old retired bank employee. She's been living in a senior hi-rise building in New York City since her husband of 46 years passed away. Rose does not agree with what she calls the rocking-chair mentality and lifestyle that some of society slots people into once they pass the age of 55. So, here you'll have a few pearls, and some personal comments relating to aging, as well as a few laughs, in this collection of Upsides and positives to life after 70. I must say that at 74 years old, I hadn't really taken the time to analyze the aging process in such a completely positive way, but as Rose said to me, "You've just been too busy worrying about growing old that you forgot to take the time to enjoy it."

Business consultant and serial entrepreneur Robert Bly teaches how to find the right home business opportunity; determine the target market for that business; sell the right product to the market at a profit; manage the business without wasting time; effectively market the business; comply with all laws, regulations, and taxes for the business; and generate enough income for retirement. “Heartfelt and ever-endearing—equal parts information and inspiration. This is a book to keep by your bedside and return to often.”—Amy Dickinson, nationally syndicated advice columnist "Ask Amy" More than one thousand extraordinary Americans share their stories and the wisdom they have gained on living, loving, and finding happiness. After a chance encounter with an extraordinary ninety-year-old woman, renowned gerontologist Karl Pillemer began to wonder what older people know about life that the rest of us don't. His quest led him to interview more than one thousand Americans over the age of sixty-five to seek their counsel on all the big issues: children, marriage, money, career, aging. Their moving stories and uncompromisingly honest answers often surprised him. And he found that he consistently heard advice that pointed to these thirty lessons for living. Here he weaves their personal recollections of difficulties overcome and lives well lived into a timeless book filled with the hard-won advice these older Americans wish someone had given them when they were young. Like This I Believe, StoryCorps's Listening Is an Act of Love, and Tuesdays with Morrie, 30 Lessons for Living is a book to keep and to give. Offering clear advice toward a more fulfilling life, it is as useful as it is inspiring.
