Penjelasan ini sudah saya ketik pada buku Stop Pacaran, Ayo Nikah! dan buku ini menjadi jilid berikutnya. Penulisan buku kecil ini berangkat dari permasalahan banyaknya fenomena poligami di Indonesia. Dengan dalih agama, dan agama menjadi “topeng” bagi sebagian orang melakukan poligami. Meski agama melalui surat Annisa mempersilakan umat Islam melakukan poligami, namun saya yakin semua wanita, dasarnya tidak mengamini poligami. Ada yang poligami karena faktor seks, pelampiasan nafsu, ada yang karena sang istri tidak dapat hamil, ada yang karena faktor ekonomi, ada yang sekadar karena “koleksi” istri. Mulai dari istri kaya, miskin, seksi, bahenol, istri cerdas, sampai istri yang diperuntukkan jalan-jalan dan mencuci piring saja. Ada juga poligami yang bertujuan untuk memperbanyak keturunan sekaligus penyebaran ideologi kelompok tertentu. Maka wajar saja jika antara kaum hawa dan adam, semua sepakat dan sepaket menyetujui perilaku poligami bahkan mempersilakan. Permasalahan ini yang mendorong penulis mengkaji lebih dalam tentang Stop Nikah, Ayo Pacaran! dalam arti yang sesungguhnya. Menikah di sini adalah pernikahan pertama kali, sedangkan pacaran yang dimaksud adalah pacaran dalam bingkai pernikahan yang sudah jelas halal dan termasuk bagian dari ibadah. Dalam buku ini, ada beberapa maksim yang dikaji. Mulai dari maksim pacaran, cinta, keluarga, dan maksim rumah tangga. Tidak ada rujukan dalam buku ini, glosarium apalagi daftar pustaka. Buku ini murni pemikiran, curhatan, dan juga katarsis penulis terhadapa apa yang dialami selama menjalankan hidup berumah tangga bersama istri dan anak. Masalah rumah tangga sebenarnya tidak sekadar urusan dapur, kasur, dan sumur. Lebih dari itu, rumah tangga menjadi bagian kecil masyarakat, dan masyarakat adalah bagian kecil dari negara. Maju dan tidaknya, berperadaban atau tidaknya suatu negara, sangat ditentukan suksesnya berumah tangga dan berkeluarga dari pasangan suami dan istri. Buku ini menjadi bagian urun rembug terkait kehidupan rumah tangga dan keluarga sesuai maksim yang dikaji di dalamnya. Penulisan buku ini tidak terlalu ilmiah, tidak memakai catatan kaki dan daftar pustaka. Hanya disandarkan pada pendapat pribadi. Penulis sekadar menganalisis fenomena tentang poligami, pernikahan, dan sedikit atau secuil cerita keluarga dan kehidupan penulis. Penulis sengaja menulis untuk hadiah ulang tahun sang istri tercinta, Dian Marta Wijayanti. Penulis mengucapkan banyak terima kasih kepada Tuhan, keluarga, teman, dan semua kolega intelektual.
