Attraverso una documentazione in gran parte inedita, frutto di dieci anni di letture e ricerche, il libro ripercorre le vicende di carriera e di vita dell' archeologo nel contesto storico con attenzione al processo di tradizione della memoria e costruzione del mito' da parte di Eva Tea, storica dell' arte e autrice della celebre biografia in due volumi Giacomo Boni nella vita del suo tempo (Milano 1932). Myriam Pilutti Namer (Trieste 1985), ha studiato Archeologia Classica a Ca' Foscari a Venezia e ha frequentato il corso di perfezionamento (PhD) in Archeologia e Storia dell' Arte presso la Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa con la supervisione di Salvatore Settis e Paul Zanker. Ha compiuto studi post-dottorali presso la Fondazione Giorgio Cini Onlus e l' Istituto Italiano per gli Studi Storici. I suoi interessi riguardano l' archeologia classica, in particolare romana, la storia dell' archeologia e la tradizione dell' antico nell' arte di eta post-classica. Dal 2015 collabora con la Ca' Foscari School for International Education per l' insegnamento in lingua inglese agli studenti internazionali, in particolare nei programmi che coinvolgono UIBE (Pechino) e Harvard. Dal 2016 al 2018 e stata assegnista di ricerca presso il SAET della Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa sotto la guida di Andrea Giardina, dove e stata responsabile scientifica del progetto Studi su Giacomo Boni di cui questo volume costituisce l' esito.
