Questo lavoro monografico spazia sulla storia, gli eventi, la gente fragnetana, le tradizioni popolari e il folklore, raccogliendo dati particolari, a volte in maniera estesa, e racchiudendo il tutto nella memoria storica di un popolo ed anche nella sintesi che è propria dell’ambiente vitale dei piccoli borghi del sud Italia. Lavoro che sembra fissare una linea di confine tra un periodo arcaico, ma ancora recente, ed un futuro prossimo in cui la tecnologia ha modificato e va ricomponendo gli usi, i costumi e lo stesso ambiente vitale della comunità. La prima parte del testo richiama le ipotesi storiche e la cronistoria locale dal primo millennio ai giorni nostri. La seconda parte illustra i 50 anni di esperienze storiche del gruppo folk La Takkarata / Centro Studi Arti e Tradizioni Popolari. La terza parte presenta una sintetica raccolta dei canti popolari e religioso-popolari, con un particolare riferimento, al capitolo sui Canti al Tiglio, riguardante una raccolta di menzioni e poesie scritte da fragnetani di ogni epoca, sul secolare albero assurto a simbolo del paese: la Teglia chiama. La quarta parte comprende: l’appendice I che raccoglie sintetiche ricerche sul DRAMMA SACRO a Fragneto Monforte; l’appendice II che presenta la compilazione di studi personali e ricerche dell’autore sul DIALETTO FRAGNETANO, con l’inserimento di note grammaticali, di un breve dizionario e di una piccola raccolta di proverbi, detti e sentenze. Infine, vi è la RACCOLTA BIBLIOGRAFICA curata in maniera certosina ed è divisa in: Ambito A - Riferimento al contesto della storia e delle tradizioni popolari fragnetane Ambito B - Riferimento al contesto del Sannio Beneventano Ambito C - Riferimenti in generale (bibliografia essenziale). L’opera è davvero godibile, si legge facilmente e affascina il lettore che si ritrova, attraverso la lettura, a passeggiare tra le strade di Fragneto Monforte e a vivere le sue tradizioni e la sua cultura all’ombra del Tiglio guardiano del paese. Un bel modo per ricordarsi di quelle che sono le tradizioni non solo di un popolo, ma di tutti; anche di coloro che hanno dovuto abbandonare la propria terra per costruirsi un futuro migliore. Un messaggio positivo di un paese che è in grado di portare avanti la sua storia, che si basa sul suo passato ma che è sempre attenta al suo futuro: quello della sua gente e soprattutto, dei suoi giovani. Chiude il testo un breve curriculum dell’autore riferito alle attività legate alle tradizioni popolari.

Il volume, di cui questa è la terza edizione, è il risultato di un accurato monitoraggio sull'articolazione nel territorio e le analisi delle problematiche inerenti i musei Etnoantropologici. Il lavoro è stato eseguito da studiosi che in tutte le regioni italiane hanno individuato le varie tipologie dei musei, statali, regionali, provinciali, comunali e privati. La quantità, la ricchezza e l'eterogeneità dei dati raccolti testimonia l'importanza e l'interesse che tali musei hanno assunto negli ultimi anni. Lo studio antropologico che è alla base di questo lavoro mette in evidenza quanto il materiale raccolto rivesta un valore determinante in questo particolare momento storico in cui le testimonianze del passato sono essenziali per comprendere le dinamiche interculturali del presente e individuare le strategie più idonee per affrontare il futuro. "Il Patrimonio museale Antropologico", che ha avuto la sua prima edizione nel 2002 e la seconda nel 2004, è aggiornato fino a dicembre del 2007: il notevole aumento dei musei, rispetto alle precedenti edizioni, mette in luce quanto sia sempre più crescente in Italia l'interesse per i beni etnoantropologici e quanto essi siano importanti perché riguardano testimonianze irripetibili del nostro passato, delle nostre origini, delle nostre tradizioni. Il numero considerevole di musei riportati e descritti in questo volume, notevolmente aumentato rispetto al precedente, testimonia l'interesse non solo degli enti regionali e locali, ma anche quello di privati volenterosi e appassionati che hanno voluto raccogliere i materiali per renderli ampiamente fruibili dal più vasto pubblico possibile. La terza edizione di questo volume si è resa necessaria non solo perché le precedenti pubblicazioni sono state esaurite in breve tempo, ma anche perché si è ritenuto indispensabile un aggiornamento per quello che riguarda la situazione dei musei etnoantropologici. Musei che, dall'ultimo aggiornamento del 2004, hanno subìto una crescita ragguardevole, segno dell'interesse per questi beni che sono connotati da una peculiarità particolare rispetto ad altri: sono la testimonianza della vita, delle abitudini, dell'abilità, della fabrilità dei nostri più vicini antenati che ricopre un arco di tempo di circa 150 anni.

Italian Women at War: Sisters in Arms from Unification to the Twentieth Century offers diverse perspectives on Italian women’s participation in war and conflict throughout Italy’s modern history, contributing to the ongoing scholarly conversation on this topic. Part one of the book focuses on heroines who fought for Italy’s Unification and on the anti-heroines, or brigantesse, who opposed such a momentous change. Part two considers exceptional individuals, such as Eva Kühn Amendola, who combatted both with her body and her pen, as well as collective female efforts during the world wars, whether military or civilian. In part three, where the context is twentieth-century society, the focus shifts to those women engaged in less conventional conflicts who resorted to different forms of revolt, including active non-violence. All of the women presented across these chapters engage in combat to protest a particular state of affairs and effect change, yet their weapons range from the literal, like Peppa La Cannoniera’s cannon, to the metaphorical, like Letizia Battaglia’s camera.
