Inhaltsangabe:Gang der Untersuchung: Ziel der Arbeit ist es, die Hintergründe und Motive, die einen Telekommunikationsanbieter in ausländische Märkte eintreten lassen, zu ermitteln. Des weiteren wird untersucht, unter welchen Bedingungen strategische Allianzen die geeignete Strategie der Bearbeitung dieser TK-Märkte darstellen. Die vorliegende Arbeit ist in sechs Hauptteile gegliedert. Im Anschluss an die Einleitung werden in Teil B die maßgeblichen Faktoren des Transformationsprozesses der TK-Märkte beschrieben und deren Einfluss auf die Internationalisierung der Carrier dargestellt. Die theoretische Untersuchung bezüglich dieser Internationalisierungsbestrebungen erfolgt zweigeteilt. In Teil C werden Internationalisierungstheorien, deren Gegenstand die Erklärung der Internationalisierungsbestrebungen von Unternehmungen ist, dargestellt und auf die TK-Branche angewandt. Dabei liegt der Schwerpunkt auf der Ermittlung der Motive und der Voraussetzungen für das Eingehen von Auslandsaktivitäten. Auch wird in diesem Zusammenhang auf das Entscheidungsproblem, in welchen Auslandsmarkt eine Unternehmung eintreten sollte, eingegangen. In Teil D werden die möglichen Formen der Marktbearbeitung im Ausland untersucht. In diesem zweiten Theorieteil wird eine komparative Analyse verschiedener Marktbearbeitungsstrategien durchgeführt. Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt liegt hierbei auf strategischen Allianzen. Dieses Vorgehen entspricht der logischen Sequenz der Internationalisierungsentscheidung einer Unternehmung. So bezieht sich Teil C auf das "Warum" sowie auf das "Wo" des Eingehens einer Auslandsaktivität eines TK-Anbieters, Teil D dagegen auf das "Wie". In Teil E werden die Ergebnisse einer vom Autor durchgeführten Reihe von Experteninterviews vorgestellt und Hypothesen als Ergebnis der theoretischen Analyse abgeleitet. Diese werden in ein Konzept für eine empirische Untersuchung integriert, die die Überprüfung der theoretischen Erkenntnisse in der Realität ermöglichen würde. Teil F dient schließlich der Zusammenfassung der Arbeit und einem Ausblick auf die Zukunft.
